Dh, the kids and I are heading up to Orlando for 2 nights this weekend. We are going to Sea World on Sunday but wanted to relax around a nice pool all day Saturday so we found the Peabody for a fantastic price being Spring Break time. It looks really nice so I'm excited! I've heard the beds are fantastic.

Will let you all know how it goes when we get back...

I just read about this in a book and intend to go and watch in June. If you could pass on any details about the duckies pls do! I saw the penguin parade at Edinburgh Zoo and it was sooo cute, so hope it'll be similar.

    Have a lovely stay :sunny:

We are back from the Peabody. It is a beautiful hotel and we would definately stay there again. I got an internet price of $99 a night and it was more then worth it. We got a room on the 15th floor facing Disney World. We could see Spaceship Earth, Tower of Terror, the Contemporary and we watched Illuminations the first night from our room. Very cool!

People boast about the beds here but we weren't very impressed. They were only double beds which my dh and I don't fit very comfy together in. The pillow top mattress was night but otherwise the mattress seemed stiff. And the pillows were down but seemed to be thicker then they were long which I don't like. But everything else about the room was wonderful, even had a tv in the bathroom!

We saw the ducks come out yesterday morning, it was very cute but I tell ya... if you blinked you would have missed it. They came running out and into the fountain. I did get a cute pic though.

I stayed Saturday night and friends stayed Friday and Saturday with Hotwire rates of $94 and $90. My friends upgraded to an Executive Suite for an additional $35. I had a 2 queen room on the 13th floor with a balcony. I was happy with everything but did notice hallway noise. This was probably my 8th stay at the Peabody and I will return for those rates.

I haven't stayed at the Peabody, but had read about the ducks, so I convinced our friends from Canada that we should go watch the ducks parade out into the lobby one morning at 9am. We got there, the ducks RAN from the elevator to the fountain. They were very adorable, however, there proceeded to be not one but two ducky rape incidents right in front of us and the Duckmaster didn't do anything about it. He told us it was one male and the rest were females and he couldn't stop it because it was "just nature". Yes, that's true, but I'm telling you those females did NOT want what happened to them. My poor friend from Canada was traumatized by it. Our husbands found humor in the situation, saying at least it was "premature duckulation".
I will say that on a future trip, my Mom wanted to see the ducks, so we went there in the afternoon to see them parade from the fountain to the elevator. This was a much more pleasant experience. No ducky rape.
The ducks have their own apartment that you can go peek in. I believe it was a floor or two down, but I don't remember exactly. A gentleman in the lobby told us about it, so we went and watched them there for a few minutes.
Hmmmmmmmmm, I just realized I sound like a duck stalker, but I swear I'm not. :guilty:
