Star Wars Lands to open in 2019

Probably 2 years ago...but calling attention to avatar is different than Star Wars because of the appeal difference.

And...let's face it...they are concentrating 100% on Disneyland...so if there are any snags there I think it tossed the mgm version into the next decade

Oooh... see this makes me question our trip next year. Granted, still WAY too early, but... Supposing things seem to be staying on track by early 2018 for a 2019 opening... Do we go in 2018, or do we wait and go in 2019 when it opens, considering we are all huge SW fans, and my DH really wants to see SWL? If we go in 2018, it will be at least 2020, and probably more likely 2021 before we get back. The wheels turn....

Well we will see. Both are moving but Disneyland is obviously ahead. Foundations are being poured at DHS, and excavation is well underway for the big show building.

Never wait for construction. You're best bet is to go in 2018 then again in 2020/2021. 2021 will be WDWs 50th anniversary.

So this means we continue our 17 year tradition of going every year.
Since we just miss it by a few weeks this year, we have to go 2018 for Pandora, 2019 for Star Wars, 2020 for whatever we missed the year before and 2021 for 50th. Works for me.

I'm trying to convince my husband that we should go for the 50th even though we're going this year. We might have a little one by then but I would still love to go. I highly doubt we'll go before the 50th though after this upcoming trip in Sep.

I'm pretty darn excited to see how the SW land turns out though

This is a bit surprising to me. Disney didn't announce a year for Avatar Land until recently. They're announcing a year for Star Wars Land with still 2 years to go. With Disneyland so far along on their construction, does anyone think that Disneyland's version will open potentially in early 2019? I'm thinking they will open Walt Disney World's version to coincide with the release of Episode 9. I realize that it is still possible to have some setbacks.

No disney announced Avatar in 2017 quite a bit ago. It was recently that they said summer 2017.

It is always fun whenever we get a piece of news pertaining to the expansions. With the news coming out today about an opening in 2019 I couldn't help but to be some what pessimistic. Disney is infamous for announcing a date for an opening and then having it delayed for months or even over a year (Pandora the World of Avatar and The River of Lights Show). From what we are seeing it is more than likely that the Star Wars Land in California will open as promised in 2019. However, for Star Wars Land in Hollywood Studios I see some trouble. From the looks of it Disney is prioritizing Toy Story Land which I originally thought would see a Summer 2019 opening. I see Star Wars Land in Hollywood Studios opening in Summer 2020 or even 2021. Am I crazy for thinking this or is this the general thought between us fans?

First Pandora was never delayed.

Toy story land will open in 2018.

Star Wars land in 2019 for both Disneyland and DHS.

I don't understand why you would think toy story in 2018 is surprisingly soon. Look at the aerial photos. It's also not a very intricate land like Star Wars.
