Standing in line with a stroller??

Ok, this may be a weird question, but will I be able to stand in line for rides with ds in his stroller...will there be room?...what about steps?...or will we have to try and hold him the entire time? thanks!

As a general rule, strollers aren't permitted in the ride/attraction queues. There are stroller parking areas near each ride/attraction. You park it there, and go back to it when you're done. It would be a logistical nightmare for people to get their kids out of a stroller when people are entering/boarding a ride/attraction, followed by the WORSE logisitcal nightmare, the fact that every ride/attraction's exit is NOT also the entrance. In other words, if you left your stroller at the entrance, they would pile up there, and people would need to walk back through the line to retrieve their stroller, and then walk backwards through the line to get out of there.

I hope you can see why strollers aren't permitted in queues.

Yup - gotta hold the baby. I took a hip hammock/pouch sling that I made from Disney fabric for DS. Made the lines much easier! It folded nice and compact when we weren't using it and I just slipped it on and put DS in when we needed it.

I can understand why. It's just something I hadn't given any thought to until right now. I know it will be a fun time standing in line with a squirmy 1 year old....not that he would want to stay in the stroller for all that time either anyway...

we used a baby pack pack
it was wonderful, she was just 1 and could see and experience all the sigths from up on top of daddys back

lots of times the CM's will move your stroller for you to the exit area while you stand in line/ride and then exit. so don't always look in the same place for it!

also,I know this was a little bit of a special circumstance but a few times CM's saw us struggling with our premmie daughter (not with her exactly she was all of 6 months and 10 pounds at the time!) but with her moniter that was a tad heavy but definitely meant to be slung over your shoulder for walking (I never mastered that btw) And our small 2 year old and our one bag we didn't feel comfortable leaving behind in stroller and the CM's would either let me wait with kids in stroller for a little longer and then escort me up to rest of my family or offer to let us go to handicap entrance (we always refused that one) so the CM's are really nice about trying to help out. A couple times they said (oh, just stand here in the shade but only when they saw us struggling)

Over all, the lines are not to bad to wait in and usually people in front of or behind you entertain the little one fairly well!

I've not heard of CMs moving strollers closer to the exit to be nice. They DO move strollers that aren't appropriately parked, however ... they will move strollers that are "in the way" or are otherwise parked in places they shouldn't be. But I haven't noticed them shuffle strollers around in an atempt to make it more convenient for exiting guests.

But definitely good advice to not panic if your stroller isn't exactly where you left it.

The CM's definitely do move strollers at some of the rides. I would bring a bright bandanna or something to tie onto your stroller so you can find it when exiting rides. In January, the stroller parking lot in Fantasyland in MK became unbearable. There had to have been well over 100 strollers parked outside of some of the rides. It left a path about 10 feet across to walk thru. This was in the afternoon. We usually hit Fantasyland first thing in the morning because it can become almost impassable in the afternoon. Don't leave anything of great value in your stroller while on a ride. We haven't noticed anything missing, but have found our possesions sorted thru when we got done w/ a ride. I assumed it was just some child that mistook our stroller for his own. The Disney rental strollers are hard to tell apart, so do mark your stroller w/ something so it is easy to spot.

There are at least a couple of exceptions for the no-strollers-in-line rule. One is Kilimanjaro Safari. You will keep your stroller to a certain point in line where you will then park it in the designated area. You will retrieve it from this same area when you exit the ride. The other is Fantasmic. You keep your stroller again until you reach a certain point along the entranceway where you will park it and again retrieve it from the same area. If it is a Disney rental, they will take it from you at this point so you will not have it to exit the park. You can also take your own strollers (not the Disney rentals though) on the trains at both MK and AK. And the CM's occasionally do move the strollers just to be nice. I have seen them moving them undercover if possible when it rains.
