ive been trying continuously to get into Ohana for dinner to no avail. Can you just show up a few minutes before they open for dinner and try and get in first thing?

It's not completely impossible, but highly unlikely that they will have tables available. The only way you would be lucky enough to get a table would be if they happened to have had a last minute cancellation. Ohana is extremely popular and always packed so this would be one of the least likely restaurants that you'd be able to go to as a walk-in. Keep trying though as you may find a cancellation even right up to the day before. Good luck!

Keep trying even the morning of the day you want to go! People can cancel without penalty up until midnight the night before, so ADRs may open up then.

It might work. I'd try a weekday - that way you're not dealing with as many locals who may be trying to do the same thing.

It is very likely that you may find an adr the day of or even the day before, since people will cancel due to the cancellation policy. I would keep trying. I have read by multiple people that they had no problem with a walk-up at Ohana, but of course it could depend on the night and how busy or also the CM working the podium that night.

Walking up to the restaurant, especially one as busy as 'Ohana would be a last resort. Keep checking for cancellations since most who decide not to go will cancel to avoid the $10 per person penalty.

The walk up line at 'Ohana begins well before the restaurant opens and because it is almost always fully booked be prepared for a long wait if they are accepting walk ups.

This was in 2010, but when we went to check in for our Ohana reservation there was a really long line for people without ADR's. Not sure if that is common, but if so I'd show up pretty early to get a good spot in line. Everything is different now with credit cards being required for holds, so reservations seem easier to come by this time. I've had no trouble finding everything I need.

Good luck!
