Split stay ddp question!

I've been to Disney many times but was thinking about a split stay again for next year,
Last yr we did 16 nights SSR and then 5 night AoA!
I wanted to figure the best way to split stay but have DDP at both resorts and I know I need tickets for both packages unless I have an AP, my question is does everybody who is in the room have to have APs for us to get the DDP at both resorts? Only asking as Dh & myself might have APs but the 3 kids wouldn't they would just have 21 day tickets,
If not then we will have to do 16/17 nights DDP and the rest OOP,
Thanks for any advice

They require showing one AP at check-in. You do not all have to have annual passes. I don't know how it works in the UK though - UK stays are booked somewhat differently.
