Gustav has come ashore.... right near the oil processing plants.

So what's your bet on what the prices do?

Me, I am just hoping the Govenor of GA keeps his mouth SHUT and doesn't manage to "invent" a crisis again this time. He was an IDIOT after Katrina and Rita!

And to everyone in the affected area..... Our prayers are with you. Hope you, your family, your friends, your pets, your homes and your jobs all survive unharmed,

$3.36 at Costco in Kennesaw yesterday.

Expect a slight surge since the storm was just Cat 2. Hope to ride it out since I have a full tank.

$3.69 in Sacramento, CA. The news last night said it may reach $5 though:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Here in Europe (or at least France/Italy/Germany/Austria) gas prices have not dropped all summer long, even after crude oil prices plunged. They have been about $10,50/gallon equivalent in Germany all summer; a little less in the other countries noted. (I did see that it dropped in Austria by a few cents today)

I am also sending best thoughts to my friends and colleagues in the impacted areas, as well as those who I don't know. I spent a lot of time in those states after Katrina and have seen what was and what became in the past three years. Hopefully what people achieved will still stand by tomorrow morning.

I don't know how high it will go, but I guarantee there is not a thing any of us can do about it. If gas is $5.00 a gallon, then it is $5.00 a gallon.

    We have two choices.

    Walk or fill up.

Well, now we have given Gov. Perdue a storm headed for the GA coast. I feel CERTAIN he can get on TV and do something to "inspire" panic. I mean after all this is a man who compared "liquor sales on Sunday" to "legalizing prostitution" ??? And "invented" a gas crisis three years ago.... (Note to Gov. SCHOOL BUSES RUN ON DIESEL!)

I didn't move in time to vote so I have no idea if I support his politics but....

Oil is significantly down in trading (down as much as $10 a barrel in trading today) as Gustav apparently has caused no damage at all. Gas prices will continue the downward trend they've been having.

Sadly no downward price expectations for us - the drop in recent weeks did not impact the cost of gasoline for us at all - I am still paying what I paid in May/June (which was higher than what I paid in April)

I will continue to gas up in France and Austria when I can, to save a few Euros.

Which is why they shouldn't have been able to jack up the prices last week before Gustav hit - nothing had even happened yet nor was guaranteed to happen, but up go the prices... and now there was no damage... so it begs the question - why do we let this keep happening?

    End speculation now. :thumbsup2

I just filled up in Chicago suburbs, for $3.97, but even around here prices vary widely by the county.

And our choices are walk or fill up. This is my first fill up in over a month. I've been choosing walk.

Here in Columbus GA it's still $3.52 at Sams and 3.59 by my house (we live on the north side close to the Welcome Center, they always jack the prices up at those two stations!). Maybe I should've filled up at Sams this morning!

Ours didn't go up at all, still the same price as a week ago.
It was settled around 3.67 in west Orlando, but it went down to about 3.53, which is where its at currently.

Oil futures closed at $116 a barrel on Friday, down $10 a barrel from Thursday, and they are currently sitting at $7 less than that now.

I would expect gas prices to drop in the near future.
