I started on Jan 1 too. Broke out all those exercise videos that have been collecting dust on my shelf and started. I'm doing the Slim in 6 series first and I just started week 4. Then I have Power 90 and then Jillians 30 day shred. That will take me into May and I'm considering getting the insanity workout. I figure working out 6 days a week for 5 1/2 months will set me up to be able to do it without dropping dead. So far so good. I missed one morning because I overslept and I felt guitly all day but I'm down 8 pounds and 13 inches which is all the motivation I need. :cheer2: Good luck to everyone!

oh wow Sandi! that is fantastic!!

i did so-so over the weekend, got 2 workouts in but not so great on the eating. I did see my local endo friday morning, was able to snag a cancellation. She thinks i'm probably insulin resistent and started me on a medication, she said it should help the weight loss kickstart. haven't seen that yet...but it's only been 3 days. i'm impatient :teeth:

ok, I am TOTALLY disappointed in myself. I have totally fallen off the bandwagon the past 2 weeks and have fallen into old habits. Thankfully, those habits were slightly curbed by my good intentions and clean shopping. (you can't eat things that are that bad for you if they aren't in your house - thankfully, there haven't been a lot of chips or sweets in my house since the beginning of the year.)

So... starting back yet again. Maybe the stresses of the last few weeks will melt away as I exercise. This past month has really been rough - an Alzheimer's episode with my dad (police were involved - :( ) and DD's been sick for almost 2 weeks straight. Work was insanely crazy - I actually pulled a 16 hour day earlier this week.

Back to counting calories again tomorrow and tracking food and exercise on MFP. You know, after I sort over 100 cases of Girl Scout cookies in my living room tonight!

    How are you all doing?

(((HUGS))) to you. Sounds like you do have alot on your plate right now and you have my sincere thoughts dealing with your dad and the Altzheimer's episode. We had a one last year and it ended up with us having to have him go to the elderly psych unit for several days. It was really bad.

Just take things a day at a time, heck, sometimes even an hour at a time is all you can manage. We are here to support you any time!

I had been doing pretty good....great on exercise and better not great on food. Well last week I went to my PCP for a bulge that got bigger in my abdomen and was told I have an incisional hernia from my surgery site 4 months ago. Really?!! I see a surgeon Thursday. I was advised to ease up on the workout until that consult. Ugh!

Glad to hear you guys are still on track. OhMom - hope you don't have to have another surgery!!! :headache:

I am so off track, it's like I'm in a whole other country! I am doing ok with food choices, but have found myself stress-eating. But even with good choices on the stress eating (mostly fruit and veggies), I'm back to gaining lbs. I just got to a point this weekend that I'm super unhappy with being back in my fat-pants, I need a change. So, this weekend, I did lots of manual labor - I super-style cleaned my kitchen (hands and knees for over 500 sq ft of scrubbing flooring and baseboards!) and did 4 loads of laundry. This was shoved into my already busy weekend of 2 Girl Scout Cookie booths and a Girl Scout Ice Skating outing. I literally sat down for an hour on Sat after a cookie booth, before making dinner, and knitted, and on Sun after the ice skating outing for an hour, helping DH bottle beer before getting DD ready for bed.

So, this morning, my muscles are sore. We, as a family, tried out a new morning routine today, and figured that it will allow me to work out for about a half hour each morning. So, I'm going to start that tomorrow. Since my legs and glutes are already sore, I may as well get them really sore with 30DS, right? My reasoning is that I can do the workout Tues-Fri, and then we're out of town Sat & Sun... if I want, I can take a break those days. If not, then I can do them while we're out of town (getting our taxes done at our financial planner's and visiting family - nothing exciting).

At this point, I feel like I've started and stopped and started and stopped so many times... I really want to make it stick. I think for me, it has to become part of a routine. I am at the point where I don't like how I feel. I miss how limber I felt when I was running, now I feel all tight and creaky and like I pop and stuff when I move. So... here I go again....

I feel like this - [IMG] and this [IMG]

    I need a fresh start!

Oh no! I hope everything is ok! Please keep us posted! (((HUGS)))

I'm so sorry! I totally know and undersand. Been there, done that. I've started and stopped so many times, it's a wonder that I never got whiplash from the impact! This has seriously been the longest streak that I've been on and what is really keeping me accountable I think is my fitness pal. I recently have done 85 days continuous logging and I don't want that number to start over! But actually as of last Thursday this has been 100 days for me. (I didn't discover MFP or do it regularly until about a week or so after I started being healthier and exercising.)

(((HUGS))) You can do this! Every journey begins with a single step!

Oh man, is this ever good news! I am beyond glad that this thread has a pulse! I'm starting over, ya'll. I restarted my Noom app for today, and my personal goal is to lose 15 pounds through diet and exercise by April 30. I've been shamefully off-track food-wise but still exercising this weekend, but I've been eating well during the week, just not exercising.

Sooo... I'm putting that behind me and starting on the path ahead of me. I signed up for Netflix to give my hours on the treadmill/elliptical/stairmill something to look forward to. Additionally it will be back to day one with Jillian. Hopefully I can get about halfway to my goal before my St. Paddy's Day birthday!

I'm so glad that you're all still out there putting one foot in front of the other. Thanks for getting in touch, Desiree. Keep us posted and fingers crossed that you don't need additional surgery, ohMom. And finally, hops, thanks for helping me realize just how badly my house needs to be cleaned!

Please keep checking in! I'm starting on a Tuesday... because I can! Ha!

    *Ahem* *cough cough*

I mean Wednesday. I'll start again tomorrow, Wednesday, because I can.

Who else is looking for encouragement and accountability these days?

I look forward to hearing your updates!

Ok ladies by his weekend is my by binge. We are our of town (we are back home where we grew up) so were eating out as we visit with. Old friends and family. Eating at our old standbys. I'm gonna live it up this weekend because Jillian will kick my (big) butt next week!!!

Hernia repair... Hopefully it will help and recovery won't be too awful? Will you be able to do more after the surgery than you can do now??

Girls, I've gained back all the weight I've lost in the last 6 months. The time for change is Monday Morning. Hahaha. I knew that starting last week would be unrealistic, as I knew this weekend was coming. So I'm gonna live it up as my last hurrah! I'll be back at the end of march for a baby shower, so that'll be my goal time frame.

Off to meet my bestie (bffs since we were 3!) and his wife for breakfast. The first of my 3 meals out today!!!

Enjoy your day today! I hope you have a great time!

I had a serious "about to throw in the towel" moment today. But fortunately DH convinced me just to not "think" about it and go out for a run. I'm really glad I did. I felt sooo much better afterwards. The scale hasn't been my best friend this past two weeks so I'm really hoping to see some downward momentum again soon.

desiree -- i'm so proud of you!! not throwing in the towel and choosing to excerise! that is like poster child of healthy lifestyle adapted!! cha-ching!

hops&dreams -- hope you had a good weekend and today is your day! back on it girl!

having the hernia has slowed me down again..sigh...it gets awful tender and uncomfortable if i'm standing alot of the day. i haven't been exercsing, to be honest, b/c my DH and i are going on a getaway to Vegas next week and i don't want to do anything that might jeopardize the trip! that's terrible i know. the NP at my PCP office had me a little rattled by listing off the warning signs of the situation becoming emergency, put me on lifting restrictions, told me to back off the exercise and if anything take easy walks. which i haven't even done b/c i'm going to vegas and i don't want to do anything that might make a stable situation become not stable.

it will be two weeks of misery, followed by 6 weeks of restrictions. lovely

    Hey Ladies!

What a range of activity we have on our little thread here! You're situations are each inspiring in their own ways!

Jhenn - I can't wait to hear how you've hopped back on board after your fun weekend.

Desiree - Teach me your ways! I threw in the towel today. Back on track tomorrow, but I wish I had checked in sooner.

OhMom - Your body needs rest and your mind and soul need to relax and enjoy Las Vegas. We'll all be pulling for you and hoping that your body and health give you easier days ahead. We always want to be most productive when we are sidelined, but we seem to forget that rest is productive, too. Hang in there.

I'm anxiously awaiting (ha!) TOM and a big woosh... so crabby! Clothes don't fit! Can't sleep! Can't avoid remains! Ugh! I'm sure you've all been there. Sorry for whining!

I'm so glad you ladies are sticking it out with me! I really enjoyed myself this weekend (read: ate 5 meals out!) and am back on the straight and narrow.

I'm 2 days in and have been AWESOME at food journaling!!! I have tracked every single thing that I've eaten for the last 2 days on MFP- even hard candies! It has really helped me make better decisions (like saying no to candy at work) and keeping my portions in check - I passed on seconds last night at dinner so I could have a 5 oz margarita. Tradeoff, but totally worth it!

Now, next step - start waking up early enough to workout again!!!

OhMom - rest up for that Vegas trip! I'm sure there will be lots of walking! Are you still using your fitbit?

goofyfigment - good for you for going to the gym - remember that every time you go, you're a tiny bit closer to meeting your goals. Now, if you could just drag me along every time you go....

Ashley - I'm where you are - clothes don't fit, no energy, all seems hopeless, so what's one more Girl Scout cookie??? Make the decision for yourself - YOU have to make the change. Every journey begins with a single step! (I swear, that's this thread's motto! - and then I think "what's a motto?" "nothing - what's a motto with you kid?" it all comes back to Disney!)

ETA: and now I have Hakuna Matata stuck in my head!

OhMom - How are you feeling? Any better? Can't wait to read about your Vegas trip!

LittleMiss - I hear ya there. TOM usually is what KILLS me and it takes the rest at least one week just to recover from that one. And if anyone has Chocolate. ugh, It's bad. I've been helping with the chocolate craving by making a chocloate protein smoothie on those bad days.

Goofyfigment - Great job getting to the gym! How is that going?

Hops - GREAT job logging! I'm almost addicted to not skipping a day. I don't want to start my counter over on MFP! I should be hitting 100 days logging in a couple of days. I'd have totally drank that margarita too. :)

I'm back on track after Saturday's fiasco though. Actually have a few errands to run after work so I'm not sure if I'll get the gym in or not but at the very least, I do plan on walking.
