Fairfield CT is a nice town too. Pricey though, depending on your budget.
Bethel CT is nice and maybe a bit less pricey....close to Danbury and highways etc. They don't have a "town green" kind of town center, but they do have a quaint downtown area & additionally a lot of nice shopping nearby in terms of larger chains. Good restaurants. I'd put it almost 1/2way between Boston & Philly probably, and probably slightly more affordable than Ridgefield, Fairfield, Madison, Guilford CT.
