Kona is awesome! It was everyone's (meaning adults) favorite meal the last time. And we must think alike b/c we have Ohana and Kona too. LOL!

I always keep in mind where we are staying. If we are staying deluxe or even mod, I try to eat at least once at my home resort, and several times near my resort. When we stay at values, I consider transportation. Like getting to a monorail resort is easy, but getting back from AKL late - you kind of need to take a taxi or drive - going via bus to DTD to get back is a pain.

Eating at your home resort is always easy, especially if the weather is not great.

At values, dining in parks is a good option.

Epcot has some of the best dining on property, so that's part of why we go to Epcot at least two days.

My favorite place is still Boma for dinner. I also love Narcoosee's. I try to book those two each trip.Otherwise I'm flexible.

Withthe new policy though, we may be looking at offsite options again. I really enjoyed Smoky Bones! I also enjoy eating at any place at Portfino Bay at Universal.

This is a bit of a budget trip, doing 3 TS in 6 days with TIW card:

Day 2 - Lunch buffet at Biergarten
Day 4 - Dinner buffet at Trail's End, DD's birthday dinner
Day 6 - Breakfast buffet at Trail's End

We're not even staying at Ft. Wilderness LOL. But, we love that restaurant and it's a really nice atmosphere and break from the hustle/bustle of many other restaurants onsite. The buffet is great so we don't have to pick just one thing, but lots of little bites of lots of things!
