We are going for a 2 night trip in May, not going to use the resort amenities (maybe the food court), just looking to sleep and shower, probably will not take an afternoon break

I have total sticker shock! When did these rooms become so high??

Which would you do and why?

What part of May are you going and is this with the Spring Offer? We booked POR in May at first and it was around $185.

Okay so I think your numbers are for the total 2 night stay? I was a little confused and thought that was the nightly rate. Honestly I don't consider those rates all that high, but me personally I would go with POR because its a beautiful resort and has the boat to DTD. It's the only of the mods I have interest in staying at and the values don't interest me at all.

May 13-15 and it is the price for a 2 night stay

I just checked on Orbitz and I can get 2 nights much cheaper than with WDW. Art of Animation is just $105 a night!

Now I am totally confused! For me it is sticker shock because we used to pay $49 for a value and $79 for a mod

I would pick Sports just because I'm cheap :) AoA has no appeal to me, but that's probably because the only standard rooms are the LM and I have two boys, 12 & 10.

I understand your sticker shock. We haven't been since November 2010, and I had the same shock when I started pricing for our June 2013 trip. We usually stay in the values, but decided on CBR for this trip because we love it.

Wow, those days are long gone :rotfl: I remember getting a 45% discount at Poly and paid the price of rack rate of a moderate now.
For just a short 2 night stay and commando touring I voted on a value. Pop. You wouldn't be there to enjoy the extra ammenities of a mod so why pay for it!

What are you planning to do while you are there? The room rate isn't that different between all of them.... in this situation I would pick the hotel that can get you to your planned destination quickest that way you can maximize your time.

:confused3 We used to pay 50 cents a gallon for gas.:confused3 But that was a while ago.

You're going during regular season, not value, so that's one factor. It looks like your prices do include the spring discount. If you can get those resorts cheaper with Orbitz, then go for it. If you're in sticker shock and it's only for 2 nights, then you might as well settle for AllStars and spend as little as possible.

If all we were doing is using it for sleeping and getting reading in the morning for each days adventures; I would always choose the cheapest resort and the least expensive room.

Let me tell you how it would work in my house.

"All Star Sports is only $185 and we won't be in the room much, lets stay there"

    2 days later

"It will only be another $20 to stay at Pop, we liked it on that 2 nite stay a couple years ago, lets just change to that"

    3 days later

"We can move to a Mod for only an extra $90, I say that's a no brainer. I'll call today to change"

    A week later

"We've never stayed at Riverside and we can go there for only 10 bucks more. Lets do it"

    10 Days later

"Maybe we should check the rates at WL"

Sports - hands down ! Save the extra money for souvenirs !! Especially if you are only going to sleep there ! I booked sports for our recent trip last month - we haven't stayed at a value in years and I was worried , but I totally loved it. We were at the parks most of the time anyway . The food court was very good and the resort was really quiet . ( and we were there during a cheerleading competition! I just asked for a quiet room ) We liked it so much - we extended our stay ..

I agree with this!! If you are not going to have any resort days and your trip is short, I would definitely choose one of the values! Which ever one you choose, I know you are going to have a great time at Disney!:cool1:

I voted for POR because we've stayed at CBR and I would choose somewhere we hadn't stayed before to try it out. If you've stayed at both POR and CBR in the past, I would go with the one you liked the most. We've never stayed at a value and have no desire to, so a moderate would be my choice. Good luck.

I would do Pop and plan on breakfast in the room because the food court is so crazy in the mornings.

I picked up a couple of bananas and some juice when I first arrived at Pop to go with my morning granola bar and I was all set for a few hours each morning. If you were driving and could stop at a grocery store, you could save more money getting them there.

I stayed at Pop for 2 nights in Dec. 2012 and it was perfect for me.

    LMAO :lmao:

This is pretty much how we ended up doing a Club Level Room at the Beach Club this trip after starting at POR. Small incremental changes and now I'm like :scared::scared:
