short one luggage tag ?

    Leaving for the World on Saturday and I started placing the yellow Disney Magical express tags on my luggage. I am short one tag. Since the tags are two sided could I split one in half? Has anyone done this before? I could carry one one piece, but I really don't want to since we are carrying 4 kiddos with us. That is enough to keep up with! Lol. Thanks for your help.

    I would try calling to see if they can expedite you a tag!

    I had this exact situation last year. I called magical express and they informed me that as long as I gave the voucher number and a description of my luggage, that my luggage would be picked up at the carousel and delivered to my room as usual. WRONG!! Although we were instructed to never split a yellow tag, I know we would have fared better. Our luggage apparently spent lots of time on the carousel before somebody took notice and removed it to unclaimed luggage ...... But not before most of its contents were stolen! After all of our other luggage was delivered successfully, we told bell services about our situation. They then dispatched someone to unclaimed luggage at MCO, but it was too late. Bottom line .....lesson learned. Walk to the carousel and pick up the bag without a yellow tag!

    Hope nothing expensive was in that bag!!

    To the OP, first call DME ASAP and they can probably get them to you before you need them. After that I would probably split a tag like you are talking about and just do it that way as a back up..

    That happened to us when they cut back on the number of tags that are mailed. There was not enough time to ask them to mail more tags so I was bad and did cut the tag in half and did not have any problems.

    Now i check the tags as soon as they come in and order additional ones!

    Yes we did that too split the tags and they were not happy(I think they track them for credit/money from Disney but it worked... what I have none now is order the first batch and then call MS the next day or week and order the extra.. got all mine now for trip Oct 16...:thumbsup2

    I do not remember exactly but a CM at Disney or MS when I mentioned it... it was way back when they first started to do this... I was repromanded NOT TO DO THAT AGAIN!!!! so I haven't as long as they send the extra tags...but if I didn't get them I would do it ....I did get my bags...but I must say again it was a few years ago... since I go 2 X a year I can not remember in years how long ago... sorry

    ahh ok.. I havent looked at the bar codes closely, but I thought they were all the same numbers just different names.. If that was the case, they wouldnt know anyway.. /shrug.. Maybe just someone wanting to feel important.
