Will we be disappointed? Now I am having second thoughts because The Wonder is an older ship and also smaller. What will be the same, what will be different? Are there fireworks on the Wonder?

March 25, 2013: Five-night Caribbean: Ports: Miami, Grand Cayman, Cozumel

    Thanks

Except for the 2 night cruise to nowhere, all DCL cruises have pirate night/fireworks.

We've only done the Magic & Wonder, we're worried about the larger numbers of people on the new ships. Personally, I prefer the Magic. There is plenty of stuff to do. Pretty much the same kinds of things as on the Dream. Except no AquaDuck.

Actually, the Alaska cruises have pirate night but no fireworks (not allowed in Alaska).

We have done the Dream and then the Wonder and I had no problem going back to the Wonder. I love the classic ships. There is an intimacy about them.

Next month I am doing the Magic out of NYC for the 8 night Bahama cruise and then going on the Fantasy in June...not worried at all about being on the Magic again. Looking forward to it.

Oops , yes, you're right, MJ. I forgot about the Alaska ones.

We went on the Dream in November and just got off the Wonder a little over a week ago. We loved them both! Sure the Dream has all of the new bells and whistles, but the Wonder is easier to navigate and more intimate. Both ships have wonderful service. My kids cried after both cruises because they loved them both so much. We went on the Wonder prepared for the differences and we were not disappointed at all. There were things we liked better on the Dream and things we liked better on the Wonder...kind of like Disney World and Disneyland...there are a lot of similarities and unique things that set each ship apart.

We did the Dream last August, our first DCL cruise (have also cruised Norwegian and Crystal), and just got off the Wonder a few weeks ago. We quickly discovered that we like the Wonder better. The Dream has a few more bells and whistles, like the Aquaduck, the moving pictures, and a spectacular Animator's Palate, but once you get past those, the ease of getting around, plus the fewer people really makes it more comfortable. My kids liked the tween club on the Wonder better, and hubby and I both liked the adult pool area on the Wonder much better. We just booked our Alaska cruise on the Wonder for next July, and can't wait!

    Do you mean movies?

    Or something else?

Nevermind, I'm guessing you mean the pictures in Animators Palatte.

Actually I meant the Detective Mystery or whatever it's called on the Dream. It's a game where the art on the walls around the ship moves. Very cool.

This is so good to hear. We too did our first DCL on dream this year and have the 5-night wonder booked for next. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the classic ships, but the tween club was my worry! My daughter really enjoyed the edge but the website pics of the one on the wonder looks so dark and "I used to be a conference room"ish! I guess it's the programs they enjoy though.

This is great to know. I was getting a little worried about the smaller ship and things to do without the Aquaduck (I was got on it 8 times!). Does anyone know if there are 1 or 2 dress up nights on DCL 5 Night Cruise:cloud9:?

We had sailed on the Magic once and the Wonder 7 times before doing back to backs on the Dream last summer. We also have the Magic booked for this upcoming summer. While on the Dream, both DH and I agreed we will not be sad to be going back to one of the older ships. While we loved the Dream, we dont feel we will be missing out on anything or getting anything less on the Magic. :thumbsup2
