Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

So with only a few days to go...had to take DD to Dr today. Strep test was negative. Possible ear infection...so much fun for an airplane ride in a few days...
Please make sure to use "ear planes" with her. The pain can be extreme and these definitely help. They sell them at airports next to the aspirin and meds sections in the gift shops.

Sorry! :( I just want to echo starting antibiotics if there's a chance that would help (obviously talk to your doctor, etc, etc!!!) and use a decongestant before the flight.

I have nasty allergies that cause sinus issues here and there and I would swear by the decongestants -- helps A LOT!! For me, only the "real stuff" (pseudo ephedrine) held behind the counter (must show ID to buy it) works. The others aren't strong enough. Again, talk to your doctor, blah, blah, blah!! ;)

I GOT THE JOB! My DH and I are both college students and not wealthy in the slightest, but this job has doubled our income! I start training next week!
... soooo, to celebrate, and since I get a nice AP discount on Disney After Hours, my best friend and I have spontaneously decided to go down this Thursday! We're splitting a room at AS Music, got a nice AP discount on it, and going just for the DAH!
CONGRATS!! party:

Just discovered these. Two trip and I can honestly say they have changed my travel experience. I have very sensitive ears - they pop just driving up and down big hills! Plane travel has sometimes been excruciating. My friend suggested these a couple of months ago, and the last two round-trip flights have been absolutely pain-free. You can still hear very well with them in, although you can't use the ear bud type earphones for audio. You could use the larger earphones that cover your ears instead though. I found mine at Cub foods pharmacy, and then bought a 5-pack from Amazon.

Speaking of which...... :D

I think I may have a problem. Three Disney trips in 1 month...:confused3:rotfl::mickeyjum[/QUOTE]

First off - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I don't think you have a problem. You're just very PASSIONATE! If I lived closer to the House of Mouse I'd probably go there more often too.

Did you all see this? Posted on FB just now by the official Walt Disney World account... https://ohmy.disney.com/news/2016/0...-animal-kingdom/?CMP=SOC-FBPAGE20160511130000

It's titled "5 THINGS YOU MUST DO DURING NIGHTTIME AT DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM", and it includes this about RoL:

"we guarantee this will be one of your favorites when it premieres later this year"

And it has the nerve (in my view) to refer to the Jungle Book show as a "bonus"! Am I the only one who doesn't feel that way about it?

The article itself isn't new, but why would Disney post this now, as it provides NO NEW INFO? :confused3

Perhaps it's just me, but I found it annoying at this point. :snooty:

Wow! I just saw this thread a couple of days ago..well actually I saw the "Mother thread" lots of pages here. I'm trying to plan a trip for clients, almost time to do their FP and now hoping this is settled, because I got them all excited for it. :o
If you cant get a FP you could get them a dining package for it.

Yes it is annoying, and the JB show is not a bonus, it is a substitute. They posted this old news because they don't have any good news.

Thanks everyone! Our Dr said if ear not better in 48 hours to get antibiotic. We still have time since we don't fly out until Sunday - thankfully. She slept well last night and seemed great this morning. She has not had a fever or anything - I am certain it is just a cold. And being congested she did not sleep well the night before - which made it all worse.

I actually would not normally take her to the Dr for that - but thought with trip coming up and Saturday is her birthday party for her friends here in NY - that I it would be best! Fingers crossed!

I am going to check out the " ear planes". Never heard of! But I think they sound great!! She has children over the ear headphones so that would be perfect!

Thanks everyone for all your advice!
