RSHEALAND live from CR/VB/BLT with pics

After our walk on the beach Saturday we grabbed the car and took a ride into Sebastian and stopped at the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum. Mel Fisher's salvage company discovered the Atocha wreck and many other shipwrecks off Florida's east coast and the Keys.

We had lunch at Capt. Hiram's off Rt 1. It right on the water, with a nice view of the Sebastian River. We then stopped at Riverside Park and walked out on the public piers.

We made our way back to the resort and had some cocktails at the Green Cabin Room and then took a walk along the beach to the north of the resort.
Most of the sea turtle nests are to the north of the resort, we counted 9 as far as we walked.

Started the day with another sunrise walk along the beach this morning. There were not any clouds this morning but I still like seeing the sunrise over the water. We used a Nike app for the smartphone and tracked how far we walked. We went 2 miles down the beach to the south, which was just a few hundred feet farther than we went the day before, then turned around and headed back. We really enjoyed looking for shells and pieces of coral. There were a couple of turtle nests to the south and one that either just hatched or was dug up by something.

After our walk we went to Shutters for breakfast then back to the room to pack up for our ride back to BLT. On our way down we took the Beachline to 95 and on the way back we went A1A into Melbourne and over 192. The ride back was smooth until the last 15 miles with alot of congestion. Checked in at BLT around noon and went out to the pool bar to get a drink and share a sandwich and just as we sat down we got the text saying our room was ready 11 floor theme park view. When we were at CR our first night we checked with Roger who checked us in on the concierge floor if it was possible to get a higher floor on the BLT stay and he said he would check. When he saw us Friday morning he said we were scheduled for the 11 floor so they must know about 2 days out where you will be staying as it was to days before we arrived when the called us and said they did not have a room for our lake view stay.

On Monday Oct 22 we attended the 1pm culinary demonstration with Jamey Fader from Lola in Denver, CO. We picked this one because we had dinner at his restaurant when we were in Denver in August. It started with a wine pairing explanation from Frithjof Knol from Torres Vineyards in Catalonia, Spain.

Beautiful pictures! I'm laughing that people lined up so early for Hanson - I didn't think they were popular when they were popular! :rotfl:
