Rose and Crown Illuminations

Could you guys confirm my understanding? We have a Rose and Crown reservation for 7:50 on a Wednesday in early May where Illuminations is at 9:00 (that appeared to be the latest reservation we could make). My understanding is we can request a table with a view of the show (and offer to wait), but even if we don't get a table with a view, there is a standing room area for R&C patrons with a good view of the show. Is that right?

We plan on doing a little drinking in the World Showcase beforehand and so a somewhat late dinner works great with our plans.

You can request a table with a view at check-in and offer to wait (aka, it can't hurt to ask), but they may not be accepting table requests (this is not uncommon). In that case, you'll have to take the next available table for your party size regardless of location or forfeit your ADR. With a reservation at 7:50 pm, I think there is a fair chance that all of the tables with a view will already be occupied with guests that are planning to stay for IllumiNations. If you are placed a table without a view, yes, there is a reserved viewing area for R&C patrons located to the left of the restaurant (when facing WS lagoon). It has an excellent view of the show (assuming the wind is not blowing towards the R&C), but like any viewing area, the further back you are, the more obscured your view may be by taller guests in front of you.
