We'll be leaving for WDW this Saturday. I made my ADRs immediately after the free dining was announced back in April. Our reservations are for 4, but now it looks like my mom will be joining us for several meals. I called to add her to our reservations and WCC is the only restaurant they would make the change on. I told her we had no problem just adding an extra place setting to a table for 4 and just all squishing in. She told me they couldn't do it and we'd have to change our reservations to places which still have availability for 5. Obviously, I don't really want to give up my great ADRs at places like Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's, and Boma. I think I'm going to keep the existing reservations and try to talk to a manager at the restaurants early each day to see if they can accommodate us with an extra place setting at the table for 4. Has anyone done this before and did it work? Please, no posts telling me the official Disney policies. I know what they are. I just want to know if they are willing to bend the rules. Oh, and this isn't the same as having a reservation for 3 (for example) and adding a 4th person, since a party of 3 is already taking up a table for 4...so it's no big deal for them to accommodate that request. I need to "overcrowd" a table.
