I am not sure where my old DIS account went (OregonMickey I think), so I started a new one! We usually go to DL every other late Oct. early Nov., and it is planning time for this Oct. :cool1:

Anyway, I apologize if this was posted recently, but I know how nice this offer was for us, so I am going to share it again. If by chance you are going within a month of an adult in your groups birthday, then definitely register with the Patina Group for their birthday offer! They own Tortilla Jo's, Catal, Naples, UVA, as well as several other restaurants in L.A. They will give you either a $30 or a $50 gift certificate to use at the restaurant you select. We have done this twice for my birthday and went to Tortilla Jo's both times, and it was such a treat! Every little bit helps, and $30-$50 is a big help!

Great! We will be able to do this!

How far out can you register? We won't be there til the end of November.

I registered last month. We will be going in December, my birthday month!

We used this in January. My sister and I both had birthdays and we used our birthday vouchers at Naples. We had to split the order (there were 4 of us so two parties of two) but were able to use both vouchers at the same time. Perfect!

I see that the site asks for my state; is that the state I'm from or the state I'm visiting (or does it not matter)? I live in Florida but will be visiting DLR close to my birthday this summer, so I want to make certain I get a coupon that can be used in CA.

I'm from New Zealand, so I just used CA as my state, as it wouldn't let me put in an overseas one. Of course, it's not my birthday yet, so haven't received the voucher yet to see if it worked!

Thanks so much for posting this! DH's birthday is today so I registered last night and it showed up in his inbox this morning. We'll be there at the end of the month so this is perfect!

Also, in case it didn't work I entered a false birthday for me for a couple weeks out (my actual birthday was last month) in case they didn't send his since it was technically already his birthday when I registered (after midnight). So my false one also showed up too! I think they would let me use it though because it is still within 60 days of my actual birthday.

Either way, don't worry about the "emails will be sent out the last week of the previous month" if you have a birthday coming up in a few days. They'll send it out anyway! :thumbsup2

Great tip! We'll be there the week of my bday in June. Always eat at Tortilla Joes, this time was thinking it would be fun to try Catal or Uva bar and now we can!

I live in Oregon, but put in Anaheim, because they need you to choose the restaurant you want to go to, and we don't have those restaurants up here. And it says you have to show proof of birthdate, but the waitress didn't ask for anything. I told her ahead of time we were gong to be using it though.

So happy others will be able to take advantage of this:goodvibes This is why the DIS is so great!

Do you have to register every year or will they just send you the certificate automatically every year?

That is correct...we are on the East Coast going in June, and I used my zipcode instead of a CA one, and got discounts for their New York and New Jersey restaurants. OOPS

Thanks! Between this and the Earl of Sandwich, we are saving serious money! And making decisions where to eat :cool1:

Thanks! Got our patina email today and waiting for earl of sandwich! Good thing hubby has a may birthday! Can anyone tell me how long it would take to get from DCA to DTD?

If you're interested, you can also sign up for the Landry's Select club (formerly Safari Club). It costs $25 but they give you an immediate $25 voucher. You get some perks, too, and they put $25 dollars into your account in your birthday month. This is good at Rainforest Cafe in DTD or any other Landry's restaurant in the US. http://www.landrysselect.com/

ETA: they put $25 into your account in your birthday month every year

When you walk out of DCA through the main entrance, you're almost in DTD. Earl of Sandwich is at the far end, near DLH. If you go through the GCH exit, you will come out near the middle of DTD.
