Hello all! We recently got back from our very first cruise. :thumbsup2

It was by far the most amazing time. We booked a dummy date onboard and our 18 months are up in December of 2015. My question is...

Do I just book a cruise that is slightly more expensive now even with the discount, (because most or all of the inside staterooms for a family of 5 are already booked and we don't need the royal treatment or a verandah) or do we forfeit the discount and get on for 2016 when we have a better chance at getting a cheaper room? :confused3

When you guys think they will release the new dates? I am confused and not sure what to do. We WANT to do another cruise. And we are willing to wait. Do others out here decided not to get the onboard discount and just wait it out?

    Thanks in advance!

Q1/2016 may get released around December 2014 Sign up with a specialist DCL TA who will give you a heads up.

Cruises past April 2016 will be out Spring 2015 no one knows exact dates as it's a long way off.

That's really up to you, when you'd like to cruise next.

To use your OBB it needs to be within 18 months -- sounds like that makes it Dec. 2015. Since those cruises are already out, fares are likely to only increase from now. The holiday time is expensive, but earlier that fall may be less.

Nobody can guarantee when DCL will release more cruise dates. Lately it seems to be approx. 16-20 months out -- my best guess is sometime this fall, maybe in Nov, give or take a month, the cruises for the first part of 2016 will be released. But that's just a guess.

You can look at historic fares for January cruises (or other months) on the Opening Day threads (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=49779257#post49779257). Those are likely to increase just because the fares have been increasing annually. Whether you'd get a better deal cruising in fall 2015 with the OBB, or waiting for January/February 2016 full fare is a gamble. I'd say fall 2015 with the OBB is going to be the better deal, but maybe that's too soon for your budget.

    Enjoy your cruise!

We did our first ever cruise this year as well in April/May on the Disney Fantasy Western Carribean trip and are waiting for early 2016 dates to be released. I have signed up with a Dreams Unlimited Team Member who is going to contact me as soon as dates for this period become available. I email her every now and again just to touch base and see if any news is available - im happy to pass on her details if you like - she has been great with us. We are from Australia and are dying to do another cruise. I have heard once you go on the Fantasy you stick to this boat as it seems to be the better boat from the fleet - haven't sailed on the other 3 DCL ships so cant really say from my experience. We didn't rebook our cruise onboard due to the 18 month restriction of taking the cruise. :)
