I'm trying to decide between Red Rock Resort and Green Valley Ranch for our trip to Vegas in July. We are traveling with my sister & family, that includes a 5-year old and 2-year old, so we want to stay off the strip. Both of these resorts seem wonderful....just can't choose between the two.
    Which one would you recommend?
    Thanks!

Haven't seen the Green Valley Ranch, but my daughter just got back from a business trip on Wednesday and stayed at the Red Rock Resort. She said it was absolutely gorgeous! She said the rooms were just beautiful and clean. She liked that it was off the strip and they had a view of the entire strip from their room. The staff was attentive and room service was wonderful. We always stay at Bellagio and although this is off the the main strip, would stay there again. Their website shows how pretty this resort is. Have a good time wherever you stay.

We used to live in Vegas. Red Rock is very nice. Green Valley has a weird feel to it (at least to us), like it's trying to hard to be something more than what it is.

RR is where DH and I would go to relax and hang out. The little bar there had an awesome chai martini. And the BBQ place---OMG--the mac n cheese was PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9:

Thanks! It's funny you said that about the "weird" feeling about Green Valley...one of my friends just said the same thing. She didn't stay there...just went to the casino...but said that there was just something about it she didn't like.

The BBQ place you are referencing may have been the Salt Lick BBQ, which closed over a year ago. There is a Yard House restaurant in that space now.

RR has movie theaters, a bowling alley, and a nice pool. And, there a Kid's Quest child care center. There's a Mexican restaurant, a buffet, and a Bagel Cafe with great sandwiches, plus more restaurants. And, the previously mentioned Yard House. Across the street, there's an Olive Garden, an Islands restaurant and a BJ's Pizza. Absolutly, I'd stay at RR before GVR.
