Just curious, in your opinion, what makes Swan better than BC? Trying to decide which resort for late September trip.

    Thanks,

For those of you ranking POR & POFQ as pretty high, can you tell me your reasons?

We're looking at POR to stay at this summer.

way down on the bottom is Coronado Springs... so big for us to walk around and trying to find our room was difficult the WHOLE time!!
Even people that work there had a hard time finding a specific room!!

I had POFQ as my #1

It's a small resort so walking from front to back is minimal, less than 5 minutes.

The themeing is wonderful. It really does remind me of the French Quarter in NO. Very lush southern swampy (in a good way). I'm not a fan of large icon in your face themeing. The food court is a little much but that's the only place where I thought the decorations detracted from the atmosphere in a negative way.

The boat to DTD beats the buses anyday. It's actually kinda fun just in itself to ride through the 'swamp' on a slow river. You are in a corridor of trees and its so scenic it really is a nice little break. Plus if you've ever waited for and ridden a bus to DTD you know how long and drawn out that is, so thumbs up for the boat.

Food Court. I thought this was a great middle of the road for a food court. Better than a lot of the value courts but with enough unique food to make it feel like more than a burger and fry stop. Benights are a big draw here. They're good. Worth a snack credit or the OOP money they charge. Plus with the boat to DTD you are just a short trip away from all the DTD eateries so it seems like you have more options.

I am not a pool person but there is a slide for the kids and they always seem to be having a great time. Plus there is the campfire with Marshmellows and the nightly movie so some fun stuff for the kids if you want a down period at the resort to recharge your batteries.

Walking around, sitting and watching the river, going in to grab a drink at the bar there are plenty of things to do if you are not into the kids activities.

Boat or walk along the river to POR (5-10 minutes ETA), where there is a TS, a food court with different offerings, fishing, and more pools. As POFQ and POR are sister resorts guests are encouraged and allowed to use amenities at BOTH resorts.

I did a short visit over to POR and I would like to try this resort out. It's bigger and would have to be a trip where walking distance wasn't an issue but the themeing over there was just as spot on as POFQ. That is also where the marina is and the horse drawn carriage rides so great activites.

POR has three busstops and POFQ has one. POFQ is the first to pick up and drop off if they buses share (there are the random times where this is not true but the majority of the time POFQ is first). I have only shared buses twice. I have vary rarely had to stand.

I think of the moderates these are the only two that appeal to me at all. I have been to POFQ twice and it is always the first one I look at now when I'm planning.

I also think it is the most reasonable in the price vs theme/amenities catagory. I have never paid more than $170 for a night. At Disney that is a bargin. I have done value stays when money was a bigger factor and I don't mind the values at all, but I love to have a few more perks and I can get them for less than $200 at POFQ. I figured I'd end up being a deluxe kinda girl and I love BC, but I've decided that I get just enough of a resort feel with perks that matter to me at the moderate level. I still price out Poly and BC when I plan but I always think what do I need to feel on vacation....POFQ has met that need and I recomend it to everyone I talk to who is planning WDW.

We have only stayed at the Poly. The Poly is our #1.

Once I move to Florida :goodvibes I am interested in trying YC and my DH wants to try the GF.

For now, my kids and I just can't imagine staying anywhere else. I know I am missing the beauty of other resorts, but at least I know we think it is vacation paradise.:thumbsup2

Hands down #1 with a bullet...Poly!! Love everything about this place. Don't wish to stay anywhere else...except for Aulani in Hawaii (maybe someday).
