Is the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney open for dinner? Do you just call for reservations or can you walk up and get a table?
Looking for options for our group of 8 including a 2 & 6 yr old. We were at one a long time ago and enjoyed it. It's hard to make definite reservations in advance since I'm not sure of how our schedule will work out and allow breaks with the time change.

They are open for dinner and a reservation, especially for 8, is highly recommended! On a busy night the wait could be over an hour without a ressie!!

They don't allow online reservations for dinner, but you can call and make them. Anther option is go there about an hour before you are really ready to eat, and put your name in and then walk through DTD while you wait! If you are a Landry's member, they will get you in quicker!

Or join the "Landry's Select Club" for $25 and they give you a coupon for $25 towards dining. This club allows your priority seating at Rainforest, Trex, and Landry's. When you get there they'll give you the next available table.

As others have said, I highly recommend calling to make a reservation for a party of 8. The wait time for walk-ups is commonly an hour or more, especially for larger groups, regardless of the day of the week. The phone number is (714) 772-0413.

I would also recommend joining the Landry's Select Club. It does cost $25 to join, but as mentioned, you get a $25 gift certificate (on your account). One of the biggest perks of the Landry's Select Club is the priority seating, which means you don't have to have an reservation. When you get to the restaurant, you just show the card and you get slotted in for the next available table for your party size (after the Landry's Select Club members that checked in before you). The only thing is...the rules technically say that the priority seating is only available for parties of 6 or less. I don't know how strict they are about that (I have been able to use it for a party of 7, but I've only tried it once for that big of a group so it could have been a fluke).

Thanks for the information! I'll have to look into the club and talk with our group about what we want to do.

There are also occasions when it only costs ten dollars, however I haven't seen that for a while and the special pricing is not on a regular schedule.

Raise.com has discounted Landry's gift cards... I got a $50 gift card for $35 (using a 5% code: take5)

I agree with joining the Landry's Dining Club. You will also get the perks at other Disney area restaurants such as McCormick & Schmick's and Bubba Gump's. Our local Costco (Sacramento area) has 2 $50 gift cards for Landry's Restaurants for $79.99.
