What is best place to sit that is quiet, not necessarily near a pool, and just read and gaze at water, etc. (Magic)

If you want shade, the best place is on the very comfy lounge chairs on Deck 4, the Promenade Deck. It's generally VERY peaceful there and a great place to watch the ocean and read a book. :)

The "secret veranda", Deck 7, Aft.

Our category 11 on the 12-8 Magic was on Deck 7, Aft also. It was very quiet there and very often no one else was there at all. Deck 4 also has very comfortably padded deck chairs all the way around the ship and is quite peaceful. Also, don't miss the leather chairs around the atrium (Midship, Decks 4 and 5). No ocean view there, but very beautiful, peaceful, and extremely classy. But you really can't go wrong with almost any place on board.

We loved the ship and can't wait to try the Western Itinerary.

    Have a great time!

Deck 4 has clear plexiglas over rails so you can see the water, and can actually see above the plexiglass for a really clear view. Even during the Christmas cruise this deck always had chairs available and was quiet.

Deck 7 offers solitude but the rails are solid metal, and the water is best viewed standing up. Great view of the sky at night.

Those comfy blue lounge chairs on Deck 4 are Heaven! I sat there to read several times...but they were so comfy, I ended up falling asleep!
