Hello! We are currently planning for our Easter cruise next year and were thinking about going to WDW for about 2 nights prior to the cruise. I had done an official Land/Sea cruise back in 2008, but I know things have changed a bit since then and since both reservations would be booked separately I was wondering if anyone could offer some insight into how Cruise Transfers from the resorts would work. I have done research and know that they are offered and pick up later in the day (which we are fine with), but was hoping to get more information on: 1) Are there restrictions on the resorts they will pick up at and 2) How do I add this to our existing cruise reservation?

Thank you so much!:thanks:

They will pick you from any hotel on property, just call DCL to set it all up..... easy peasy.
Have a fun!!!

I used a travel agent so I just had her add the transfers. If you booked on your own you can call DCL and add the transfer.

The DCL bus will pick up at every Disney resort and Swan and Dolphin. It's pretty carefree.

Don't forget there is a cost to transfer from WDW to the cruise ship! Depending on the number in your party it could be cheaper to rent a car one direction before and after your cruise, or book a private car hire. Don't forget if you drive yourself, there are tolls along the way!

Thank you all! Yes, we have already factored the cost into our budget, and since there are only two of us, Cruise Transfers seem the most cost effective and least frustrating option :thumbsup2

The day before your cruise, you'll receive a sheet of instructions in your hotel room, telling you what time to have your luggage ready for pick-up (usually 8 a.m.) and what time you need to be in the lobby to meet the cruise agent before boarding the DCL bus. It varies from hotel to hotel, depending on how many guests they need to pick up for your cruise, but figure about 11 a.m.

Does anyone know if the tolls take credit cards or are they still old school with cash only?

I may be mistaken, but I believe that over there it's either SunPass, cash, or bill-by-plate (with administrative fees added on). I know the Veteran's Expressway in Tampa is totally cashless now and I believe this is a trend across the state. If you get a rental, I believe you can add a SunPass to it. Either that, or just buy one yourself and set up the account. You can take it with you and use it the next time you visit.
