Hi All. I'd like to know more about the "Sanaa Dine with Specialist". I know this is only for lunch, but is this available for the day of your choice? My son and DH loves, LOVES animals and this will be a great birthday surprise for my son! But he will only be 7 at the time. Does anyone know if WDW will make exception as the required age is 8? Thanks.

. . . this is Wed and Sat at Noon, you cannot pick other days
. . . lunch is limited to 12 Guests, first-come-first-served ADR's
. . . age limit is strictly enforced for insurance purposes, as you interact with animals
. . . if they make an exception, it could void their insurance and open them to legal liabilities
. . . guests must follow the rules or guidelines

PER DISNEY:
"Please note: Participants must be 8 years of age or older . . .

Sat at Noon

I think it's only certain Saturdays, I tried to make a reservation in May for a Saturday and they told me that it wasn't being offered that specific Saturday.

Also, since technically your son has to be 8 or older, you can always eat at Sanaa or Boma, and then go look at the Animals out on the viewing deck. There are CMs there that will tell you all about the animals! Most of them seemed to be from Africa, and actually talked a lot about how the animals are view from where they come from.

Good to know. I was wondering about this. Is it available for booking online like regular adr's or do you have to call?

From what I've read so far, you have to cal WDW.

Thanks for all the replies. I think we'll just have an early dinner at Sanaa and walk around the viewing deck.

walk around the viewing deck.

Since you'll be at Kidani, make sure you visit Jambo. At Kidani you'll see the Sunset savannah, but at Jambo you can see the Arusha which has some different animals, there are also flamingos by the pool (they're pretty feisty and loud), and a 3rd savannah right next to the pool with other types of animals. All have giraffes I think.

My wife and I did this in June. It was a great experience and I couldn't recommend it enough.

I did have to call in as there was nowhere in MDE to make the reservation. The dining rep on the phone had to look up the information about it so it seems like even they don't know a lot about it. The meal is only offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays and it is limited in how many people can take part. The number is pretty low since everyone sits around one table and has to be able to hear the expert. There were 9 for our meal (10 if you count the expert) and that was all that would have fit while we were there.

Lastly, the courses are all pre-determined but if you are a vegetarian they will substitute the meat portions for all vegetable portions. I am not sure about vegan.
