Question about 'Discover Atlantis'

While at Atlantis on this excursion, can you visit the casino, shops, and restaurants?

Yes you can. We took this tour while sailing the 12/19 Wonder. After the tour, you're on own. DH and I had lunch there and afterwards we walked around the casino.

Thank you for the reply. We've always wanted to go to Atlantis, but never have. I'm interested to see if it is really worth paying $600+ per night to stay there (Royal Towers).

I'm interested in seeing Atlantis too....how long is the Disney excursion? How much does it cost? What does it include? Are there two Atlantis trips, or did I dream that?!!!! Would love to hear all about it!

We took the Atlantis excursion in Sept 02. I think it was $33 per person. It's a tour of the hotel, casino and the dig. It was pretty interesting. After the tour, which takes 1+ hours, you're free to stay at the casino, eat or explore some more.

There are some areas that are just for hotel guests. The tour guide will tell you that during the tour.

It was worth it for a one time thing.

$33 per adult sounds about right. We took the 11am tour and we were finished with the tour at around 1pm.

A bit of info, you can do the tour on your own, at your own pace for a lot less. It's not hard to do at all, I have a nice prewritten list that I'll paste to the bottom of this post. It's a really beautiful resort!

• Leave the ship and go to the end of the dock.
• Take one of the numerous taxis for (right now, price partially depends on a bridge toll) $5 per person to Atlantis, much more pleasant than the overcrowded water taxi.
• Walk to the center of the casino upon arrival, to the kiosk with the blue globe(Temple of the Moon).
• Buy a wristband for $25 each for access to all the resort except the water recreation(you can still walk out to the beach to look around, just not on it).
• Walk the Dig at your own pace. It's long, at least a mile or more, but it is exceptional. And you basically walk about 2/3 of the property in doing so, they give you a map with the wristbands. You can go where you wish, at your own pace.
• Whenever you're done exploring, gambling, shopping, just go back to where you were dropped off for another taxi ride back to the ship.
