Day 2 - Part 1: A Super Hero Kinda Morning
The next morning we had an ADR at Boma for 7:30 AM. We got down there at just about 7:30 and checked in. We were seated almost instantly. Before being seated, our server walked us around the buffet for a quick look to see where everything was located. Our server didn't come around as much as I had hoped as I'm a big water drinker. But we both ordered some black tea, "POG" juice, and water.
I love how open this restaurant is.
Here is my first plate.
I grabbed spinach and goat cheese scrambled eggs, a Lion King waffle, pap and I covered it in the tomato stew, roasted tomatoes, a few tater tots, and then some plantains. I loved most everything on my plate except for the plantains. They were a lot sweeter than I was expecting on my savory plate.
Mike's plate looked similar to mine.
He's not really a waffle person so he didn't grab one of the adorable themed ones.
We both went up for some seconds. I wanted to grab some of the sweet stuff. There wasn't any bread pudding this morning so I was pretty sad about that.
I grabbed pineapple and honeydew, a fruit salad, a cranberry walnut muffin, and the most amazing banana bread with a hazelnut spread. The banana bread was my favorite part of this plate. It might have been my favorite thing that I ate (other than the pap with stew). Yum!
Mike went up and grabbed...
A bunch of tater tots.
Like I had said in an earlier post, we really don't eat a lot of fried food anymore so we both thought these were delicious. He decided to try the sauces that people put on the meat from the carving station. They were both delicious and worked well with the tots. So adventurous of him.
Overall, I enjoyed our meal a lot. It's great to have so many options as a vegetarian but I saw a few things I would have liked to try but they would have bits of bacon or sausage in them. Ah well. I'm sure I could have asked the chef and they would have whipped up something additional for us but I don't like to make a fuss and I was full on what they offered. I will definitely be back here.
After our breakfast, we had to stop by the front desk since we weren't given a Do Not Disturb sign. We usually put it up for our stay because we don't need new towels or use the complimentary shampoos and things. I took some pictures around the lobby while I waited for Mike to get to the front of the line.
They were going to send someone to our room to hang the sign up for us and it was off to EPCOT!
Only a five minute wait for our bus! I believe this was pretty accurate. I think I went through the metal detector here as they were putting anyone who didn't have a bag through this line. It was quick and painless and then we were in!
Our fastpasses for the day were:
The Seas with Nemo and Friends 9:10 AM - 10:10 AM
Test Track 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Journey Into Imagination with Figment 11:25 AM - 12:25 PM
But first, a picture!
The Photopass guy here was really cranky because a lot of people just kept going in his picture spot even though he had a line of people behind him waiting. It's too early to be that cranky!
Mike had to use the facilities so I took some time to take pictures and check out the times guide.
After that, we went to check out the lines for Baymax and Joy and Sadness.
The line for Baymax wasn't bad so we got in line! I loved the themeing of the queue. It wasn't much but it related well to the movie.
Very excited!
Then there he was!! Baymax!!
We showed him Mike's Baymax shirt and showed him my Baymax dress! We even all twirled together. It was the best!
It was really fun!
Joy and Sadness were right across the way but the wait time was about an hour long and we had Nemo fastpasses that I didn't want to miss out on.
This ride was a walk on. Never again will I set up a fastpass for anything earlier than 11 AM. I've learned my lesson.
Coming up next, I'll post about some of the first gardens we saw in Future World!
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
