PTR/TR: He Can Call Me Flower If He Wants To... May 2016 (TR - Completed 7/1)

Curse my pasty white skin! LOL! I feel the same way. I burn so easily and really have to put sunscreen on to avoid the pain of a severe sun burn later on.

LOL! Yeah, I still ended up having Mike run down to the gift shop later that night to pick up the H2O aloe type lotion they carry. It's literally magic. I love the H2O stuff. :)

More cute PP pics!

I am sad I never got to try frushi, they were always out when we went to the booth! I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it though. That slushy does sound yummy!

Characterpalooza! How fun!! You got to meet some fun characters. I absolutely love the photo with Chip & Dale, that is adorable!

I'm glad you enjoyed F&G, it sounds like you guys made great use of your time!

Thank you! Sad that you didn't get to try the Frushi. So many people love it! Mike definitely did. I think the rice is what threw me off the most about it.

Characterpalooza was awesome! I love running into magical things like that. :) And thank you, I'm totally obsessed with that photo of Chip and Dale.

What cute photos and the characterpalooza looks so much fun :goodvibes

Thank you!! :D It was so awesome.

I can't remember if I posted or just lurked on your DL trip report... but I loved it! I love this one too! It has me rethinking our Fall Disneymoon plans (to hit F&W) because I want to see the topiaries!

Your pictures are great too!

Thanks for following!! I'm so glad you're enjoying this one and that you enjoyed my Disneyland one. I definitely love writing them up. :)

I'm going to Food and Wine too at the end of October for the first time! I absolutely love Disney topiaries. I'm thinking in March of doing the tour that they have that takes you behind the scenes with some of the gardeners. I don't have a green thumb myself, but I definitely appreciate those who do!

And thanks!! I love taking pictures and I'm so glad you like them. :)

Day 2 - Part 7: Meeting Our Emotions Face to Face

Now that we were done with World Showcase, it was back to Future World we went! I had pushed off our Figment Fastpass all day and readjusted it for around 4 PM so that we would make it over there on time.

Figment was a walk on so our fastpasses went to waste here. It looked like the queue had been redone since we had been on it last February though.

13339599_760189498328_5321449362664292396_n_zpslcg7p0c1.jpg

After a journey through our senses and IMAGINATION!!!... we headed over to meet Joy and Sadness. The wait time was again, another 45 minutes to an hour. The line wasn't moving either since they weren't out meeting and greeting. We got in line anways as this was a must do for us. I loved the area, especially with the detail of all the blue memories along the bottom.

13307227_760189493338_9114890082989336758_n_zpsnaf8nzgu.jpg

Parents were letting their children run wild here though. That was something I wasn't too big of a fan of. The were running under and around, through the queue and eventually started playing Red Light/Green Light until a CM had to actually start yelling at them. They had been asked politely multiple times. *sigh* Ah well, I'm not a parent yet and I know it's hard to wrangle kids for sure... but there were some perfectly well behaved kids in the line.

ANYWAYS... After about a good 45 minutes, it was our turn!

13335784_760201080118_3083876097664646880_n_zpsb2gzulds.jpg

Joy gave me the BIGGEST hug I think I've ever had from a character before. :) It felt awesome!

13256094_760201130018_7353017816600399719_n_zpss9muyj4t.jpg

Saddness was a little difficult to hug since she was shorter and had a large head, lol.

13312877_760201154968_9096336064650280436_n_zpszmogmmxl.jpg

Mike began to discuss with Joy about how he noticed Sadness had been in the other room touching some memories, while I discussed with Sadness about how close I had gotten with my own Sadness over the last few months. She grabbed my hand and held it so tight and I tried not to cry.

13332970_760201489298_7541451021092491964_n_zpsop2bnlqo.jpg

We then talked about how we of course saw Baymax! Mike and Joy did a fist bump and then Sadness wanted one too. Instead of going up... she went down!

This was SUCH a fantastic M&G. I'm always worried about character meets as only an adult, but this was awesome.

We had them sign our Mickey vinylmation since we didn't have their signatures yet.

Seriously amazing. It was definitely one of my favorite parts of the trip.

After visiting our emotions, we had one more ride to hit before heading back to the hotel.

13312853_760189528268_2572203379408118582_n_zps2ef3az8b.jpg

Spaceship Earth was posted as a 10 minute wait and we probably were in line for about that long before getting on.

Our picture didn't turn out so I don't have that to post for you. We were pretty disappointed with that.

We went back to the hotel after this, used the facilities and changed into other clothes to enjoy our time at Disney Springs.

13332881_760189538248_2769624776835444613_n_zpsgjvsiv1x.jpg

I know we had been thinking of going to Animal Kingdom this night... and we definitely could have. We probably should have. But I just didn't feel like being in a park anymore at this point. We had an early day the next morning so I figured grabbing some food at one of the new locations and doing some shopping was in our better interest.

Getting to Disney Springs wasn't too bad. We were going to go to BB Wolfe's for our dinner and then we also wanted something else to go with that a bit later. It took us a little while to find it.

The crowds were INSANE at Disney Springs. I hadn't thought that it was a Friday night on Memorial Day weekend.

13332796_760189568188_6118529582024750391_n_zps4lioha2a.jpg

There wasn't really a line though near our destination.

13315684_760189603118_5436174116902186935_n_zpsiezsnjgm.jpg

We both ordered the vegetarian Italian sausage.

Italian Veggie Sausage

This was good! I don't think I'd go out of my way to have this over Earl of Sandwich or anything, but it was definitely tasty. It was spiced right - and it wasn't a hot Italian. I wish it were! But I know some people just can't handle spicy, hot things.

After our "dinner", we decided to head over to the Art and Christmas shops and go on from there.

We did our shopping and didn't even make it fully through the Marketplace before I hit a wall. Too many people, too much rushing, my feet hurt... I was over it. Disney Springs, to me, definitely wasn't a success. It was huge. It was crowded. It lost the laid back vacation feel and turned into a large outdoor mall. There's not nearly enough seating. I'll give it another chance, but as of right now - I'm just so over it. Mike was upset because he still wanted some food. I didn't want any food since I had over-cheesed myself the whole day. We looked at the map to discover that the only bus pick up location open was allllll the way back where we were dropped off. So we made our way over there. The layout is AWFUL. We ended up having to walk back all the way around the buses when we got over there. Perhaps when we go in October and we stay at Old Key West I'll enjoy my time there more since we can take the ferry. I really want to check out the Hangar Bar and other lounges opening up.... so eventually we will! I usually don't complain much about anything, but this was definitely my least favorite part of the trip.

Anyways... back at the hotel I took a shower and went straight to bed. Mike, however, was starving. He went down to The Mara and grabbed the veggie pizza we had seen on the menu. I woke up enough to snag a picture for you guys, lol!

13321908_760189677968_3662975522694076199_n_zpsx4g0wd9c.jpg

Then that was it - I was out! Our alarm was set for 5:30 AM for the next morning to do the Fantasyland Magic Morning Hour!! So... coming up next... the best hour of my life!! (Pretty much.)

really enjoying this trip report!! Your Joy & Sadness interaction made me tear up after reading your whole story!

Thanks for reading! Yeah, I can barely make it through that story about Sadness. All I want to do is cry. And it's not exactly sad tears... it's a whole mix of emotion - just like how it should be. :)

Life Update

*Trigger Warning: Suicide*

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to post to let you know that I may not be posting a new piece of my trip report this week. It is a very busy week here at work, but on top of that... I'm approaching my first Father's Day and my birthday next week without my dad here. I'm extremely devastated. It's very hard to focus at work. I'm dreading Friday when people ask me "What are your weekend plans? Doing anything for Father's Day?" I haven't spread around the office here too much about my dad passing. If people asked me about it, I've talked opening and honestly about it... but I don't think everyone knows or even remembers it happened. I don't blame them, but I just want to prepare myself. I've been getting countless emails from all kinds of retailers and seeing ads "Don't forget Father's Day!"...

I can't forget it. It's been looming over me for a while now. I can barely be here today without wanting to cry. Everything that happened over the weekend in Orlando has me shaken to my core. I'm questioning everything. I've made the mistake of continuing to watch Game of Thrones even though there has been a lot of graphic images of hanging in it and yesterday I caught up with three episodes. Two of which had multiple references and scenes. I don't think I can watch it anymore.

With Orlando, no one is talking about mental illness and it's something that's been on my mind. It's all blamed on religion but there is more to it than that. I can't really put into words my thoughts and feelings on it - but I'm a mess. I feel so very horrible for the tragic loss of life this weekend. So senseless. I'm feeling hopeless.

I feel awful too because I told my brother that I didn't want to go golfing with him on Sunday. He said he'd make reservations. It was something he and my dad always did. I sometimes joined for an outing, but I was never that frequent nor am I very good. I told him I couldn't go. We're already going out to eat at Red Robin. My dad and I would always eat at Red Robin together for special occasions. I forced myself to go two weeks ago with some friends so that my first time back wouldn't be on Father's Day. It went okay. After that we are planning to go to the cemetery. I'm going to make my dad a card... and place it on the table in the library. (He's at Wisconsin Memorial in an urn that looks like a book in a "library"...) I also have a tiny bottle of hot sauce that I saved from our Magic Morning hour which I will eventually post about next that I want to put right in front of his book. He was a hot sauce fanatic.

So I'm sorry if I don't post a new piece to my trip report. I know you'll all understand. I just wanted to update you all so you know that I didn't up and leave you. Thank you all so much for reading and letting me know that you've enjoyed my reports. It makes me feel really wonderful to get to share some of the great moments I've had in my life while at Disney.

Please have a Happy Father's Day, however you get to celebrate.

I am really enjoying your report. Love the F&G photos! Also, I'm bummed that I totally missed the cat painting booth in April! Those are right up my alley! :cat:

Hugs to you during this difficult time! I lost my mom 5 years ago (it was sudden, but not suicide). The first birthday/ mothers day/ etc. without her was awful. She was my best friend. I can't understand all of what you are going through, but I do get at least some of it. Do whatever you need to to take care of yourself this week. :grouphug:

Thank you all so much for your support. I'm going to work on an update and hopefully have that for you today. I'm in a slightly better mood today. My husband advised I pig out like crazy last night, watch a few episodes of Sex and the City, and go for a walk last night and that helped to clear my head. I truly appreciate your kind words. It means so very much to me. :)

Day 3 - Part 1: Early Morning Magic in Fantasyland Part 1

Today was our last full day in the parks. Which wasn't saying much since we only had two full days to begin with. :) But today started EARLY!! We had our alarms set for 5:30 AM so that we could be down by the bus stops around 6 AM.

13335823_760189712898_4653279683083804066_n_zpseerk36no.jpg

Bright and early - and no idea when the buses will get there!!

I'm going to warn you now... I had an energy drink this morning. I quit coffee after our Disneyland trip at the beginning of March and had only been doing a cup of green tea a day so I was literally running around in circles waiting for the bus to come get us.

13325646_760189717888_2833076712713727784_n_zpseumff9ou.jpg

It was so weirdly and magically quiet this morning.

13310431_760189742838_7815194981845366955_n_zpsh5xoe9wc.jpg

Mike decided at 6:20 that he was done waiting and needed to use the restroom. I told him not to go because I knew that's when the bus would come... and guess what?? The bus came!! I asked the driver ever so nicely to wait two seconds as I frantically called Mike. He didn't believe me at first but then came running down.

I took this lovely picture at 6:56 AM.

The Grand Floridian is absolutely stunning. One day I will stay there.

We were put into a line with other Magic Morning guests and breakfast ADRs.

They eventually split us up into two separate lines to give us our stickers and our bands to prove we paid for the morning hour. This was a little... off. One guy had no idea what he was doing. He was definitely tired and cranky. Ah well - I was pumped and did not care!!

13244777_760190012298_4805740227143001355_n_zpsmkqhwewb.jpg

In the morning when I'm tired and on an energy drink and about to hit MK for an amazing hour - I take all of my pictures with my mouth open.

Sometimes, so does Mike.

WE WERE SO READY!!

13321733_760189927468_3480145097739172449_n_zpsg1ghvgmc.jpg

They eventually funneled us into the tunnels and has us wait about another ten minutes.

There were some Photopass Photographers set up but there was NO TIME!!

I took a shot behind me over my head. I wouldn't even take the time to look back.

The dropped a rope right at the exit/entrance point and we were able to just hop right back on! We went on Mine Train a total of SEVEN times within the first 25 minutes. I have pictures and video of every time, but I won't share them all. We decided to stop after seven because Seven Dwarfs and we were on our seventh time in the SEVENTH row. It was a sign.

13335621_760202088098_5820571047338733067_n_zpsrwhwwsra.jpg

We put up our fingers each time to show which ride we were on. Gosh - it was so amazing.

I'm already reaching up to 30 pictures in this post... so I guess I'll be making a Part 2 and leaving you with the cliffhanger of WHAT do we do next with thirty minutes to go??

Sorry, got a little behind! Sending lots of hugs to you. I'm sorry things have been difficult for you. Stay strong <3

I'm glad you got to meet Joy & Sadness, I love all the photos! It sounds like these 2 are VERY in character, which is great. Glad it was so awesome!

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your time at Disney Springs. Hopefully next trip it will redeem itself!

Love all your early morning pics. So cool that they had the carousel and tea cups open as an option too!

7 times on Mine Train?! That's amazing! So awesome that you got to ride up front too! And I love your idea of holding up your fingers to signal what number ride you were on!

Can't wait to hear about the rest!

the picture of you guys on your first ride in the first row is the BEST!!

It's my husbands favorite!! I love it. :D

No worries! Thank you.

Mike doesn't want to go to Disney Springs anymore basically at all. He's so frustrated with the experience now. He said he'll only go during the day during the week now... so we're going to go again in October on a Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully that helps! I was pretty disappointed too but I'm not going to let it deter me from going back.

I am loving your TR so far. Can't wait for the next update. Sending you big hugs to you :flower:

Thank you for following along! I'm glad you are enjoying it. And thanks for the support!

Day 3 - Part 2: Early Morning Magic in Fantasyland Part 2

After our seventh round on Mine Train, Fantasyland was staring to get crowded. LOLJK!!!

13336078_760190496328_2856736624064588801_n_zpsbpcrfy5a.jpg

We made our way over to the Mad Tea Party since Mike had never been on the teacups in Disney World. He really enjoys the one we have at our "local" Six Flags park so he figured this one would be fun too.

13339736_760190561198_8824902849322841480_n_zps39qhdsqj.jpg

We hopped right on after the teacups were done with their spin.

Mike ended up feeling pretty uneasy after our spin. They asked if we wanted to go again but Mike said "Noooooooooooo!" He spun us his normal speed but these cups are smaller than at Six Flags so we had a LOT of rotation going on.

So what did his bright and smart wife suggest next??

Winnie the Pooh! I totally forgot that the bouncing like Tigger and the water motions may make his tummy feel worse.

13307227_760190670978_7407768417002174520_n_zpskmmt8s9e.jpg

After that, we made our way over to Peter Pan.

There were a few people around and wandering at this point but no one was allowed in the lines or on the rides that were designated to us.

We went on twice! Then it was about 8:50 AM and we noticed that the line for Fairytale Hall was open! So we went into the Anna and Elsa M&G line.

13331066_760190795728_7383618953677307299_n_zpsfvhje6pw.jpg

Within about ten minutes we were meeting the ladies of Arendelle!

13315282_760202307658_5433376764746525529_n_zpszwqkqvxw.jpg

We asked Elsa if she was the one who had made it snow in Wisconsin two weekends ago. She said it absolutely wasn't her though. Hmm...

Anna invited us to join her snowball fight league since we clearly know about snow. We agreed to come to their castle to help her out next time.

It was 9:05 AM and the park was now officially open but there was one other ride in Fantasyland I wanted to hit without a wait.

Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid was a walk on!

After that, it was time to eat since we only had until 10 AM to get our buffet breakfast. We had never been in Pinocchio's Village Haus before so we weren't sure what to expect.

I grabbed tea, water, and orange juice to drink. I also grabbed some french toast, a chocolate croissant, watermelon, the vegetable frittata, and some potatoes. Mike grabbed just about all the same stuff but also a lot of cheese and no watermelon or toast... or any pastries... Okay - it was just frittata, potatoes, and cheese pretty much.

He also found these adorable tiny hot sauces!

We put it all over our frittata and took bits of cheese and ate them all together. YUM!! This was probably one of my favorite buffets I've ever had. I don't know if my expectations were just so low... or if the food really was that good! Maybe it's because I was starving. Either way... this was fantastic! I also really loved the CMs here. Three of them came up and asked us how everything was and asked if we needed anything else. They told us about themselves and asked how our morning went.

Mike forgot his birthday button this morning, so he wasn't included... but the CMs rounded up all the birthdays and sang to them. It was great!

They urged us to take more bottles of water and juice with us so we filled up our backpack with waters. We also took some more tea to go.

I would 1000% recommend doing the Magic Morning Hour if they are doing it when you are going. We hit some really great rides multiple times and the breakfast was actually good!! Everyone was happy this morning and it freed up our fastpasses for the day from not needing one for Peter Pan or Mine Train. Mine Train was already at a two hour wait when we went back outside... so we figured with everything we had done we did...

2 hours x 7 times Mine Train = 14 hours
30 min x 1 time Tea Cups = 0.5 hours
45 min x 1 time Pooh = 0.75 hours
1 hour x 2 times Peter Pan = 2 hours
1.5 hour x 1 time A&E M&G = 1.5 hours

Not including our Little Mermaid run since the park was open, we completed 18.75 hours worth of stuff this morning within an hour and 15 minutes! If you enjoy these rides - DO THIS!! I hope it's extended through October. I would sign up again in a heartbeat!

That's it for today. If I'm not back on before the weekend, have a great one and Happy Father's Day to the dads out there.

It sounds like you made great use of the extra Fantasyland time!! And so great that you got to sneak in and see A&E before official park open! I'm glad it was worth and you got so much done. The breakfast sounds like it's worth it too! That's great that you were able to load up on water for the rest of the day!

Seriously this morning was so amazing!! I hope they consider doing it in other lands. It'd really be cool if Tomorrowland had something like this!
