    I'm not above a good bribe!:rotfl:

I am hoping for at least a soft opening of FantasyLand. I think our trip is close enough for that at least.

I expect a phone call, text, email and carrier pigeon as soon as you know anything!:rotfl2:

Phew - I just got caught up from very early one via your chapter links! Sounds like I missed some scrapbooking pictures though, so I'll have to scroll through. Reading several of your trip reports are such an inspiration for going with just Maddie. I've got it in my head that we will go again in November :) I want to stay in the Little Mermaid rooms at AOA if we do go. Are you thinking of that too - think of all the new photography possibilities!

Hey Erin! I'm SO sorry! You PM'd me and I totally spaced on replying. :flower3:

The AG dolls are a nicer quality. The problem of course is trying to put a value on that additional quality. I think it's mostly the hair. Even older girls playing with a doll will mess up their hair. The AG dolls stand up to that pretty well and takes a lot of styling without looking much worse for the wear.

Really, I think she'd be happy with either.

Yeah! :cool1: I'm so glad you're all caught up and on board!

2 days ago I would have said the odds were really good we'd switch to AoA if it's included in FD. But after looking at the map of the resort, I'm not sure any more. I REALLY like to get a room at the Pop really close to the food court, pool and bus stops. The standard rooms at AoA are a ways back in the layout. Right now I let Katie run up to the food court for a few minutes and come right back. I'm not sure I'm ready to do that if we're that far away.

Besides....... I'm lazy. We go, go, go in the parks, sometimes from open to close. But when that day is over.........man, every step counts.

It is so funny that you said this. I had been considering staying at AoA also. I just looked at the map though and thought the exact same thing as you. I don't want to be way at the back of the resort either. You are so right... at the end of the day, every step counts. I love that you can pay for a standard room at Pop and still be right next to the food court in the 60's building. :thumbsup2

Oh that's okay! no worries. Someone also suggested My generation dolls as a cheaper alternative available at Target (Nothing is ever available in Canada!) So I'm stuck.... I'm also stuck on thinking I may look for a doll that looks more like V as opposed to a cindy doll look alike and then it will really be her doll no matter what. Decisions Decisions. AG Dolls aren't as Big here in Canada as they are in the US and the whole idea could end up being a big fat flop! Sigh... I wish I wasn't such an indecisive person who has to look into all possibilities instead of just picking one. :confused3 Thanks for the advice!!!!! I am leaning more and more towards AG Doll

I moved us to AoA today. I am a bit worried about the walk, but after seeing the Little Mermaid rooms, my dd has her heart set on it. I haven't told her I switched resorts yet. I seem to remember reading somewhere that POP and AoA will share buses?

The more I think about this, the more I think I don't want to do all that walking. I really hope to read some first hand accounts once the resort opens. But I compared the online map of AoA with Pop and Katie and I were both concerned aboutthe walking.

I hope you find something she likes. If AG dolls aren't a big deal there then I'd be really tempted to go with something less expensive. Katie really got into them for a couple years, but alas, that is waning now.

Thanks! I'm not sure the party really felt as "low" crowd as they told me it was going to be. It still felt pretty crowded to me, and I've been at some sold out parties before. I'm just thinking that having so much of Fantasyland blocked off and having Toontown closed really concentrated people in the parts of the park that were left.

    Who, moi?????? :rolleyes1

Actually the problem is that I'm dying to get back to DL. I really think 2013 will be the year for that, especially if I've seen the new FL stuff this fall. The mine coaster might not be open until 2014 anyway.

I'd love to see an update on the bus stuff. I thought I read that wasn't going to be the case now. Man, I hope it's not the case.

    You tease! :p

I'll be a while before we can buy tickets. I need to see discount dates and make sure we don't have to change our week.

    Happy B Day!

The latest update for WDW is 2014 for the mine coaster.
Little Mermaid and the B&B castle thingy might be done for this Winter so I read at mouseplanet.

And anytime is a great time for a Disneyland visit! I am so ready for our Jolly Holiday!

Thanks for the birthay wishes everyone! It was really too busy a day to really enjoy. It's going to be that way for the next couple weeks. Of course we found out last night his tennis banquet is he same night as Katie's 5th grade graduation. Of course.

This is the supposed to be the last week for tennis, so we're trying to make it to all the remainng matches. Yesterday was at Winnetonka (for my KC buddies). He won his doubles match and lost singles 9-7, so it was a good day. Very competitive.

Mike, did your son end up playing tennis? If so, how's it going?

FWIW....... I don't really visit the other Disney planning sites, but what I heard from the presentation the other day is pretty consistent with everything I have read here on the DIS for a while. BATB and LM in late 2012 and Mine Coaster late 2013 or early 2014. That's why I really want to be sure and catch the stuff this year. That delay for the Mine Coaster makes 2013 a great year to target for DL! It's been 2 years, and I'm missing it. I think I'll really appreciate Dumbo's vantage point behind the castle and the SW ride.
