Princess Mya's MAW Trip Report: First Day and Going Away Party Posted 3/6/09

So I asked our planners a few questions about Mya's trip and got some answers.

They will not plan her travel to and from the airport this is to be done by us and covered by us.

They have no relationship with the airlines so I need to call the airlines about the extra baggage expense.

Going away party is given by her planners and NOT MAW, so they pay for it I guess. Naomi thinks we should just let this go so they don't worry about the expense. I don't really know what we would do or where we would go here. Any advice?

Expenses, we are still waiting on the amount. I have decided it doesn't matter what we get. We will still plan the character meals we have set and move on from there.


Mya lost another tooth the other night and the the "tooth fairy" brought her $5 Disney Dollars. She say's she want's to buy Mickey Ears with it. She's never gotten ears on any trip and I'm excited she want's them this time.

Are the planners your wish granters? I'm confused.

We didn't get our final amount until our party!!

And we got a certificate for free parking at the park n fly...

Yea our wish granters said they throw the party from their own funds not MAW. I was confused myself.

Wow I have spent half the afternoon cruising the disboards and crying over touching stories like yours. I hope you all have a wonderful trip and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Now that our trip is over I am amazed at how different every wish organization is. We were really spoiled with ours, I wish that everyone had the same luxury. I am sure everything will be just perfect no matter what.

So I got another prayer request. It seems Aidan's G-Button is ripping at the top which keeps it from falling in his stomach. WE CAN'T HAVE THAT! If it breaks free before the Dr. can go in with a scope to remove the back end on Wednesday it would have to pass through his system that has for areas of scar tissue in his small intestine. I don't think he could pass it. We need it to stay together until Wednesday morning and then the Dr. can go in through the esophages and if it does tear off during removal they can grab the back end with a scope and pull it out.

Please pray this silly piece of plastic and the super glue I used today will last till Wednesday.

On more day, right? Sending prayers....

Well we made it through the night without any leakage. Last night I took some superglue and a toothpick and got up all around the edge (without sticking it to my fingers or Aidan's belly). We do however have a feeding tube now stuck in his g-button, but it's giving the support to keep the two pieces together. The amazing part is their is now no leaking, so no scratching and we just might make it through this without any problems.

Now the fun part, mom and dad went to the dentist and wow ain't that going to be expensive. Naomi has wisdom teeth coming in sideways and what not and they will have to be taken out by a specialist. I have first signs of peridontal disease, since I just don't like to floss, I brush only once but as a mouth breather that is not enough. It seems my cavities as a child are starting to work free and I will need those replaced as well. So after the two page bill I'm looking at a mouth that needs over $7,000 in work, but I do get Zoom for free. How nice of them don't you think. I think we can push this out over the next two years, but I do have to get a few things done now. So if it ain't one thing, it's another.

On a bright note we ordered a new digital camera to take pictures of Maroo's bracelets. It should be here on Friday.

Taking the lead of others I have chosen to contact some of the Littlest Hero's photographers. However if we do location photos, I'm not wondering if going to the ocean, which we don't see much of in Texas would be a bad idea since I'm already taking advantage of the Photo Pass at Disney.

I wondered the same thing. I would be more protective of my time, I guess, on the trip?

Going to the ocean would be fun, if you have an extra day! And they take GREAT pics on the beach! Especially in all white, right at sunset! Or the jeans look?

It would be cool to get really good pics at GKTW..and there are a lot of places to take pics. But you are going to have to many pics already.

Lauren may take advantage of it...but we were thinking for her Sweet 16 birthday or even Senior Pictures. We probably would not have done it at Disney. It can be another special thing to do when you get back?

We have a local photographer that does all our work at no cost. We met her the Thursday before we lost our First Son. She did a shoot of Naomi when she was 32 weeks pregnant and it turned out great and we know he was still living as she had a doctor's appointment the next day. It was that weekend that he passed we believe and on Tuesday when she delivered, our photographer was right there again taking pictures for us. It's the only real proof that Griffin was ever with us. She dropped everything to be there and we can't thank her enough. I hope she will partner up with this group in Texas.

So back to the topic, this is why I want to do photo's in Fl. We don't get anything like water were we are at.

We have gotten responses from many people interested in shooting Mya. Some have taken the time to read our blog, which really makes me feel special. One even has a pass and want's to do it in Disney, but if that's the case what park? So many choices again...
