We are planning our first camping trip to FW and I am trying to figure out which type of site to request; we will be using our DVC points.

We will have 2 ~ 10' X 16' tents and a screen room. We are willing to "spend" the extra points on a preferred site to be close to the pool. OTOH I want to make sure a preferred site is large enough for all of our gear. If a preferred site isn't big enough are there partial sites that are close to the pool?

Hello mmcphee ............ I would recommend Cottontail Curl, the 1500 Loop (Partial Hook-Up)! It is a great location that is very convenient and is an easy walk to the Meadow Pool, Campfire and the Meadow Trading Post. If you request one of the larger sites in that Loop I think you will have room for all of your equipment. I believe that all of the 'Preferred' sites are all located towards the Marina which is a good distance from the Meadow Pool.

I hope you have a very safe and enjoyable trip to FW!

You would do best to get a partial, as the sand pads are much larger than in preferred sites. There are only 2 partial loops, and 1500 is the closest to the pool.

I'm not positive about this, but I didn't think you could request a level of site with DVC Points. I thought you just got Premium.

For 2009 the DVC literature only describes "Full Hook Up", but folks have reported getting Preferred & Premium.

For 2010 there are different point "costs" for Premium & Preferred. No mention of Full Hook Up or partial.
