I agree. Resort decorations usually don't really go up until around Thanksgiving, usually right after.
SOMETIMES the bus driver will drop you off directly at the resort. Last year we told the bus driver we were going to Chef Mickey's and he dropped us off there after he stopped at Magic Kingdom for the other guests. I guess it will depend on your driver/how crowded it is. It never hurts to ask!
We are in a preferred room today (just checked in) 60's section, first floor, no working fridge....but close to ice machine!
When we set up our reservations a few weeks ago for early October the cast member said we would have a fridge even though some of the web chatter said they were currently having problems.
I hope for all of us they get them changed out quickly

If you have an upcoming trip planned, and you will be arriving early afternoon, make sure you do online checkin. Regular checkin was a nightmare today because everyone was getting bands and the cm's had to walk clueless people through the whole process. I'm not bashing the clueless people. I felt sorry for them. They had no idea what was going on. Most had not heard of the Magicband or even regular fastpass.
I stood in line for almost an hour without even moving at noon today and there was nobody to blame but myself. Don't be silly like me. Do online checkin.
Well that's a bummer, I'm checking in on 9/8 and I didn't get one.
Some people don't get official word. You should check your MDE and see if you can personalize yours or start planning your FP+'s.

If you've already done your online check in, go into MDE and modify it. You don't have to change anything, just go through the screens again.
Then check the magic bands tab, it should allow you to personalize them. Then go to FP+ tab and make your selections.
You don't have to do online check in to customize the bands. I didn't do it. I just checked on MDE and it said to confirm address and then customize. I did that on a Monday and then got our bands on Friday.
Correct. We didnt get an "official" word or invitation that indicated we've been selected to test the magic bands. All I did was log into My Disney Experience to get started. Confirmed the address, picked my bands/colors, then picked my fastpass+ rides! Simple!!!
Because im from Canada, my bands will be shipped to the resort instead.

Goofyintoronto, did you get an email confirmation/notifications that the bands will be shipped to the resort? We have customized our bands since 2 weeks ago but the status on our MDE has not changed and it says our bands may ship at any moment. We have not received any emails at all.
I second that! I stayed at POP Aug 5-10..and I DID do online checkin. I requested 60's building and lakeview, and I got it. I put that I would checkin at 8:30 and we were there about 8:15 and our room was ready. It took all of 5 minutes to check in and the CM at the desk was really impressed that I had everything taken care of, even had my tickets already linked to the bands. we were on the bus to MK by 9. So do online checkin as early as you're allowed to. It makes everything go so much smoother!

We are headed down in about 2 weeks (already have my magic bands, FP+ reservations etc). I will do on-line check in later this week and request 70's and nothing else since that is where we REALLY like to stay (even though I would prefer a top floor by the lake as well. We just don't have the best luck with the room assignors giving us what we want when we put in more than one request )
I can do it a week from today!! Ill have to check my acct for the magic bands. Although I don't think I'm the one thetre geared for. I don't want to plan rides.
Already checked in online for my trip 9-16 through 9-24, plus made room requests via phone (since online check-in doesn't have an option to request king beds). Refreshed the online check-in last night to add a text number in case my room isn't ready and so I could get access to order my MBs (which I did). Hopefully all will go smoothly in 28 days!
This might seem like an odd question, but my friend and I will be checking into Pop on September 16. We're so excited to stay there for the first time, but neither of us have done online checkin before. It asks for a credit card and I think we were each hoping to have our KTTW linked to our own card. Is that even possible?
I also have the option to select FP+ but there are no MBs showing. Is this because I didn't checkin yet?

I completed the order for magic bands, but when I log in to MDE, I keep getting the prompt to order them again. Should I wait or place another order? The information says they are being customized. How long should I wait? Also, I haven't received any email regarding my participation. I logged in last week and nothing was mentioned about magic bands. Then I log in on Saturday, and find out I can order them. My travel documents were slow in coming, as well. They arrived last Friday.
