is it true that Quite Cove now closes at 10pm??? Sure hope not as that was a way for my wife and I to wind down after the day. Can anyone confirm this and why?

Times are quoted in the navigator and pool times can vary, it us about that time as I have been for walks post the shows end they were closed. Nets over them.

This will be our 12th cruise in a few weeks and I just found this out. Not happy about it.

One of my pet peeves from our last cruise. We're from the west coast now, so 3 hours behind in time. We had late dining, the kids then went to the clubs, and we planned on relaxing in the adult pool/hot tub. Nope, closed. Never got to use them. There wasn't much else to do, we're not bar/show types. Definitely such a disappointment! We're going to do Alaska since we can drive to port, but will probably stop cruising after that :(

Make sure to let guest services know that you are not happy and mention it on the survey at the end of the cruise. If no one complains, it will not change. We did not like the early closing either.

I just looked at some Navigators posted for September, 2014 at it shows the Quiet Cove pool closing at 12am, but the ones for Jan 2015 shows it closing at 10pm. Just checked my Navigator for our Oct 2013 Fantasy cruise, and it shows the Quiet Cove pool closing at 12mid. Maybe for some of the cooler months it closes earlier than the warmer months.

Was on the Fantasy in March. Quiet Cove pool closed at 10pm. The hot tub was sometimes open later but mainly if people were in it, the deck person waited until they left to close it.

I just checked a Navigator from the Wonder's 2/1/15 cruise. Sure enough- Quiet cove pool closes at 11pm now. At least that is not as early as the Fantasy's new 10pm closing time. We're not on the Fantasy again for another month, but we will mention it on our comment cards then! So yes, anyone who wants the pool open till midnight, please mention the pool closing time on your comment cards!!! Hopefully DCL will push the closing time back to midnight again! Thanks!

I'm thinking that navigator was for pirate night.

We were on the Magic sailing March 29, 2015 and we were also very disappointed to find that all the pools and hot tubs closed at 10PM every night. It was the only complaint I listed on our comment card. Of course we had a great cruise anyway, but we would have liked a nighttime swim.

Wow, that's going on the comment card ...why are they closing the adult pool so early ? It's always been 12:00 ...and the kids pool 6:00 ? Not cool man :furious:

On our last cruise the pools were open late. I'm thinking midnight. You also have to remember if the weather is bad or going to get bad they will also close the pools for your safety.

We first encountered the early 10 pm closing on the Wonder in Dec 2014 and talked to the cruise director about it at the Castaway Club reception. She said they were testing it out to see how it went. The reason given was that even though there are no life guards at the adult pool, they would have crew members walk by to check on things periodically and there aren't as many crew members available to do that after 10:00. We expressed our disappointment to her that it was closed that early and told her that on previous cruises we had frequently been there until they kicked us out at midnight closing. We also told her that we saw several other guests appear at the pool and hot tubs around 9:45 (likely after the 8:30 evening show) who were really disappointed to be kicked out 15 minutes later when they came to close it up at 10:00. And even though there were several guests in the pool and hot tubs they still closed them.

I definitely recommend mentioning it to guest services and on your survey, and perhaps even to the officers such as cruise director that you may interact with during your cruise. I usually travel without children and tend to get friendly with the crew, so it was natural for me to ask about the early pool closing and express my disappointment when chatting with them. It wasn't like I searched them out specifically to gripe and it was still a friendly conversation. Sharing that info to try to share the tone because that's hard to convey here!
