Polynesian vs. Art of Animation - is Deluxe worth the extra $$?

We are huge poly fans here. We're in the process of planning a month long stay there, in one of their suites. Can't wait! Super excited!!

Have a great trip!

That sounds fantastic! We also love the Poly and are looking forward to a 3 night CL stay following our Eastern this summer. :)

We stayed at both on our vacation. AOA for 2 nights and Poly for 6, if budget isn't a big deal I vote for POLY!

AOA was very cute, and we loved our room. It was nice to have the separate spaces and the table bed wasn't a big deal is we were all up at the same time. I imagine you'd be in the LM section? They are a fair walk from the main building. We didn't like the food court set up, but that shouldn't be a big deal for adults since you can go to your preferred bay without an escort, lol. The bounty platter was terrible! It was all cold, and hard and the potato casserole thing was disgusting...and I can eat anything!

The Poly was an entirely different experience and the kids loved it more, as well. The transportation options were wonderful. The vibe at the resort is so much calmer. Food was good. I had read over and over that it's like a vacation within a vacation, and that was very true for us. I'm a big gardener, so the plantings really transported me. I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could afford it! One of our favorite things was having a cocktail on the balcony before bed, while the kids were asleep in the room - ahhhhhhh.
The kids could never stay up for the fireworks, so we missed that perk. Don't regret what we spent, at ALL.

I am staying at the Poly for the first time in November. We love the Deluxe Resorts and have never stayed at any of the Values. $2000 is a lot of money, I tend to compare where I am staying on a per night basis rather than the overall cost. I think if you plan to relax and spend down time at your resort then Yes it will be worth it.

We are going through the same thing! We are looking to go in November and trying to decide if the extra is worth it. We stayed at Beach CLub in August and loved it! We are looking into Poly for a change this time.

Been to Poly, Cr, AKL...no way no how would I spend 2k more for ANY resort! I would put that money to something else...perhaps a down payment on a future Disney cruise or another trip to the World...

In fact, I booked a Nemo suite at AoA last week...if they were within $200 I would probably stay at CR, just prefer their room style better and I like the convenience of walking to MK. Love love love the walk in shower at AoA! Hate bathtub showers...also love that the resort rooms at AoA opens from an interior hall...less chance of pollen and bugs getting in :)

Hi! I totally had this question too :) Most people thought I was insane trying to compare the two. We ended up going split stay with 4 nights at each, LK suite at AoA. I think my daughter (3) will love, love, love all the theming at AoA and the space to spread out is nice (about 80 sq ft more than Poly) as are the extra bathroom and table. I love Disney and theming but thought that it might be a bit much for me for 8 nights so we're going to do Poly (or maybe Bay Lake - we're bringing my parents) for the other half. I always wanted to stay at Poly and it definitely has its advantages as well. Just a thought :) Good luck!

You described my paradise, I mean the Poly!! It is the best feeling in the world...getting your coffee in the morning, seeing the castle and watching the monorails go around the resort. All the while, you are listening to Hawaiian music and being greeted with, "Aloha."

For me, the best mornings on property are at the Poly for all those same reasons.
