Considering POLY for March 18-24th but with this being a busier time of year how does the size of the pool handle many visitors? I have seen the pool and do think it isn't as large as it should be for a resort of that size. Also are there any other quiet pools at POLY?

I've never been to the Poly at a busy time of year, so can't answer the crowd question. Well actually we were there this past June, so maybe that counts - it wasn't too bad and we were in it quite a bit.

But there is a quiet pool between Samoa and the other building that starts with a "T" that I can never remember (Tokelau or Tuvalu).

We were there in July once and the pool was jam packed! Not sure about March, but I think you're right, the pool could be bigger.

The quiet pool is next to Tokelau.

Now I only remember this because we stayed in Tuvalu for our honeymoon and just stayed in Tokelau last November so these "T" names really stick in my head. :goodvibes

As for the size of the pool and handling allot of guests I can say that we were there over Thanksgiving week and on the days you could actually use the pool it did not seem overly crowded. Also, the Poly beach is a nice place to spread out if you need a non-crowded area.

I love the Poly and my kids love the volcano pool, but DH hates it. He prefers to swim in the quiet pool. He felt the volcano pool was too crowded, and hated always having people bump into him.

Yes the Poly pool can get very crowded. When this happens we just go to the quiet pool. In fact I like it better than the main pool. There have been times when we've been the only ones in it.

    Enjoy The Magic!!

With only 853 guest rooms and no DVC property attached, the Poly is actually one of the smallest resorts on-property, so I think the pool is built to a more-than-adequate resort-size to pool-size ratio, as compared to other resorts in WDW. I have seen it get pretty crowded in August, anyway. Part of the problem, I think, is that the pool is so awesome, and the Poly is so conveniently located, that lots of DVC guests choose it to hop to it (they ARE allowed), and lots of other guests choose to crash it, and there is no real system in place to determine who is allowed to use it and who is not (if there is a system in place, I have not seen it enforced). On top of that, one entire side of the area is occupied by the volcano itself, so there is no seating at all on the whole volcano side. It can be very hard to find a lounge chair during busy times (and not-so-busy times), but there ARE lots of chairs along the beaches that rarely fill up. This doesn't help if you want to sit in a comfy chair and keep an eye on your little ones at the same time ;).

We spent an entire day at the quiet pool in August, and only saw one other family the whole time. Went over for a couple of slides though the volcano, and had only a 5-7 minute wait, even though the main pool seemed VERY crowded!

I love the Polynesian and think it is one of Disney's very best resorts. I wouldn't change a thing about it

EXCEPT that I wish they would enforce the guests-only pool rule. In my opinion it is desperately needed there.

I've been to the Poly during Easter and Christmastime and each time yes, the volcano pool can get real crowded from mid morning through mid afternoon. :scared1: This isn't much of an issue for us as we're usually night swimmers and the pool isn't as crowded then. Can't speak much for the quiet pool as we've never used it--we prefer the Volcano pool as it has 'da kine slide' :thumbsup2
