With our trip a couple months away and the unknown state of FP+ and - when we go, I'm curious to see people's opinions of FP+ and in what form they experienced it. From what I've seen, many of the just back reports have included FP- and no tiering, which is most likely not the situation many of us are going to be dealing with in the near future.

Bonus question: When using the MDE app in the parks, were you on wifi or did you use data? What were your experiences with both?

I only used data. I had no connectivity issues and was able to change my fast passes on the fly several times.

We just used it last week and it went okay.

The two biggest positives for us were having FP+ for TSM for both of our HS mornings and the day we went with friends they were able to get the same time and we could all ride together.

And the second was being able to get FP+ for Soarin, Test Track and MS on our Epcot evening. Its been years since we've rode Soarin or Test Track because we often do evenings in Epcot and the FP are all gone.

I was able to change things around in MK several times and also pulled regular FP for a few things in both HS and MK. We did have several FP+ go unused because we either didn't make it back at the time I had picked to ride something or we rode it earlier in the day or something.

All in all its okay but we booked before the tiering thing and even in the park I was able to change stuff on our HS days and not deal with the tiers. Had it been after the tiering I think my opinion would be different. And although it felt more crowded then I had expected it was no where near the crowds we experience on our March trips. I think during a more crowded time when its not so easy to make changes my opinion would be different as well.

I did find that the app got stuck a lot and I would have to close it and start over. That was a real pain. But it was nice to be able to see all our plans on it and I changed some dining reservations on it as well although twice I had to call in to cancel something because the app wouldn't do it. But I booked California Grill and canceled LeCellier while waiting in line for Pirates. After restarting the app several times of course.

Tried to use wifi in the parks. It didn't work. Went to a kiosk for help that was not useful either. Couldn't get the changes we wanted

We were there last week and used both the park wifi and data. Just like anywhere, some areas of the parks had better reception than other areas. It was very easy to change fp+ on the fly. In general it was great for us but then we didn't do very many rides. The MB's worked out to be very convenient to have.

I went the week before the Thanksgiving, and they were just switched over to the tiering system. When we were Epcot the Saturday, we did FP+ for Soarin and were about to do FP- for Test Track but the stand-by line was only 15-20 min and went into stand-by line.

One of the last days, we went back to Epcot and met up with some friends, the kiosk CM's managed to switch over their FP+ time to overlap our FP+ times, so we can do the ride together.

We went in October, no tiers, liked it. Pulled only one or two FP- at MK.

We are going in 4 days, booked before tiers, hopefully will like it again.

I'm not a fan of the tiers.

I used wi-fi mostly, sometimes I used my own data, never really noticed a huge difference. I'm on 3g though.

We went over Thanksgiving. Very few issues. I have an older Android phone and it does not work for MDE. I cannot load the app. My family has a new Android and Iphones and MDE worked on their phones. We have verizon.

We changed FP+ selections several times during the stay due to the weather. Some changes were 30 minutes before the time. On busier days, some of the rides at DHS were not available for FP+ late in the day. We still used our original schedule.

Overall, I like the system. Before if I wanted to ride TSM, we had to pull fp- tickets early then return late in the day to use them. This time, we had FP+ booked about 3 hr apart. We could go to another park then go to our FP+ selections later and vice versa. Very cool.

We were there from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8. There were 11 of us in three rooms. Some of us made FP+ selections before tiering, others did not.

We became so frustrated with the super slow website trying to make selections about a month out that we left the last 4 days blank. As it happened, it was easier to get decent times for rides the night before and the day of than it was a month out.

Both our apps and our MDE accounts were on the fritz the first 4 days of our visit. When we got access back on day 5 we tried a couple of times to connect to wifi without success so just used our data.

Crowds were fairly manageable so we only pulled FP- about 3 times. Once was for Toy Story Mania, and twice for rides in Magic Kingdom.

We had a few issues with glitches since our accounts were down, but Guest Relations resolved them all courteously and promptly. Still, we spent more of our vacation with them than we wanted.

In answer to your bonus question, be careful if you don't have unlimited data. We connected to Disney's wifi but often times it would crash, be too slow or be unavailable. At that point, our phones would automatically switch over to data which sped things up BUT it cost us a small fortune because of overages.

With tiering as it is and soon not having FP-, you are going to have to wait in long lines at Epcot and HS in order to ride headliners that you could always ride with Fastpass alone before this change. I just don't understand why they messed with everything. :confused3

As it is today, my family does NOT like it AT ALL if there is no FP- option.
