Pirate night is lots of fun. Some people dress up, others don't. There is a party up on the pool deck, followed with fireworks from right off the ship and then that is followed up with a pirate buffet where they serve up turkey legs, chili, cornbread, cheesecakes, etc, etc, etc. The restaurants will usually give everyone a pirate bandana and celebrate some in the restaurant. The servers are also dressed up. Lots of fun :)

CMs and characters will be wearing pirate costumes in the evening. Pirate deck party (on stage show with tons of people watching on deck, dancing, etc) is after late dinner. Fantasy has a. kid party with characters between main and late seatings.

All restaurants serve pirate menu at dinner and there are bandanas on the tables. No real decoration beyond that, but that is plenty. Fireworks (weather and port permitting) and buffet after the deck party. Temporary tattoos free at the DVC desk.

I don't remember seeing any real decorations anywhere. The characters dress up in pirate garb for meet and greets. The dinner menu is themed around pirate night and the servers dress up in pirate outfits. Lots of cruisers dress up as well. They do give you pirate bandanas in your room to wear if you don't dress up. And then there is the pirate party and fireworks!! The pirate party on deck is lots of fun. The fireworks are great! And as pp said, there is a buffet after the fireworks. It's a fun night.

Yes it's on every cruise the only exception is no fireworks on the alaska ones and they don't do the pirate menu on 3 and 2 day cruises.

Our room steward left us gold chocolate coins on the bed with our bandanas and towel animal on Pirate Night. We were in a verandah cabin.

If you are dressing up do you wear your costume to dinner (if early seating) or do you change afterwards?

We dressed up for dinner this past week on the Magic. It was so much fun! Lots of people dressed as pirates. It made for a great picture with Jack Sparrow.

We are pirates for the entire evening, dinner included and have a blast. I would do it even if we were the only family. I'm going for the fun!

What happens if it ends up that your Palo reservations are the same night as pirate night? Is there a way to know in advance which night it is? We're first-time cruisers and I'm CONFUSED. : ):confused3

Very helpful info. We are cruising in December on the Dream and I have been wondering the same thing. 10 year old will dress up but I wasn't sure if hubby and I should too.
    Thanks for the post.

We dressed up last time, I mean all out dressed up- but sadly we were one of the few families that had adult participation. My husband complained about it then, but as we prepare for our upcoming trip he already asked if I was wearing the same pirate outfit or buying a new one! :thumbsup2
