Getting a package ready for a family member, wondering if I need to send pins for the kids.

Need? No, it's not a need. However there is pin trading on board. CMs from Guest Services, gift shops, and head servers at breakfast and lunch will typically wear pins IF they are not too busy. If the lines get long, the lanyards go in a drawer. In addition, there will be pin trading with the officers one night and pins for sale and trading in the atrium on the other nights.

My kids took their pins but didn't trade during the cruise. They did; however, trade during the officer night trade and loved it. That night at dinner a little girl dinning at our table had never traded before so my kids each gave her a pin so she could begin trading herself. She very much enjoyed it too! They were glad they took their pins with them for that!
