We cruise on Monday, yeah!!!! Packing now and have a quick question about pillowcases to leave at guest services for the characters to sign. Do those of you who've done this recommend Sharpies or fabric markers? I'm making my girls their pillowcases, light sparkly pink with a character border. Want to make sure the signatures stand out in the pink background and that they don't wash off. The fabric markers we have say you have to iron to set. We also have both thin and thick (regular) sharpies. Any experience with this will be greatly appreciated!

I'd go with thick fabric markers. You won't get them back until the last night of the cruise, so you can just iron them when you get home.

I left a cotton t shirt and multiple colored sharpies. They bled a little as the signatures were applied but it is permanent. Fabric markers may be a better bet as pillow cases will be used a lot more

I paid a little more for fabric markers that you don't have to iron to set. I also took out the yellow marker as I don't think that would have shown up as well. Ours turned out fabulous.

Our first cruise, we did the pillowcases with sharpies, and guess what happened the first time we washed them? Uhhhhhhh.... let's just say it wasn't pretty.

Second cruise we took several mats for 8x10 for the characters to sign. These were GREAT and a better "family" memory than just the pillowcases. HTH!

Thanks. Will get new fabric markers tomorrow...ones that don't need to be ironed ideally! May look for a couple of mats too. I've read both that they will only do 2 or that they'll do one per person in the cabin. Worth taking and trying I guess!

I used crayola fabric markers with our pillowcases on our last cruise and they worked great. There are irons in laundry room so you can set on board if you like. I waited until we got home and threw the pillowcases in the dryer for 30 minutes. No issues. They have been washed several times since and no fading.
