I don't think a 9B is anything close to a 9D, I think the 9D are the corner rooms far forward. I have booked one on the Fantasy, there are definitely pictures out there. They don't look at all like the diagram in the link above. They are larger staterooms with slanted walls and one porthole, a ceiling bunk and no privacy curtain. This thread has some photos, 8504 is a 9D stateroom.

There are not many 9D staterooms onboard, so there may be a better chance of being upgraded on a GTY.

We stayed in 8504 which was reclassified to a 9D (huge corner room). There are also 9D's forward on Deck6....

you can find pics at this thread.

Look at it on the deck plan link I posted and you can see much larger it is compared to the cabins next to it.

Thanks for everyones help - I'm so excited to be going on the new ship! I just realized the the 9's were re-catorigzed last fall and before that there were just 9a's and 9b's. I'm only a 9D GTY so I don't know for sure that I will actually get a 9d. I kinda like the layout of the corner one :)

OH! We've booked a 9B for Aug10 - room 2502... Any pics of 9B would be VERY APPRECIATED (particularly the port-hole; son wants to know if he can sit in it...?)

We were in room 2010 on the Dream, which would be almost directly accross the ship from 2502. Tell your son, he can definitely sit in the window if you are on the Dream or Fantasy (not sure about Magic or Wonder). Here are some pics.
