Picking my cabin today- cat 6 or cat 11; Any advice on cabin location?

I am just about to book a super last-minute 4-night cruise on the Wonder for this weekend (sunday-thursday). Myself, my husband and our 4-yr old.

Since it's my first DCL cruise (have cruised with Holland America before), should i economize or splurge? I can get a Cat 11 on deck 7 midship for $800 less (for 3) -- than a Cat 6 on deck 6 - i believe it was cabin 6144(the cabin was pretty far aft, is that bad?).

Should i splurge for the verandah in that location? Or just go economically. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! I have until 5pm today to decide...

I guess it depends on what you like to spend the $800 on. I've had both inside and verandah. I prefer to spend the money on something other than the room. We go for the inside. I just don't think the verandah is worth that much more money. MANY will disagree.

As far as location. I do love the aft area. There is not as much hall traffic and the aft staircase is nice to use.

Either way I'm sure you'll enjoy the cruise.

You could consider how much time you think you will spend in the cabin. Do you think your child will like the clubs at night? If not, will they be in bed early? Do they still take a nap? It is very nice to use the verandah to read a book while they take a nap or if you are in the room for bedtime it is nice for some quiet time with your DH. If you don't think you will be in the stateroom much, save the money on the room and use it for other stuff.

For location - we actually prefer aft for the same reasons as MO Disney cruiser. Good luck making your decision. We wrestle with this one every time we go.
