We just visited Hong Kong Disney and purchased the photo pass. We have happily used Photo Pass many times at Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, and figured it would be worth the money to have pictures taken of our whole family while we visited Hong Kong.
We did not notice that the fine print on the box said that the pass was only good for one day, and the clerk who sold it to us didn't mention it. Since the photo passes at California and Florida are good for the length of the visit, it never occurred to us that Hong Kong's was only for one day.
We spent two days at Hong Kong Disneyland. The first day it rained very hard and we spent a lot of time under cover waiting for the rain to ease up and ended up leaving the park in the early afternoon. There were no photo pass photographers out on Main Street or in front of the castle, let alone anywhere else. In Florida and California there are many photographers in the parks to take pictures in front of the scenery. My daughter took pictures with a couple of characters.
The next day was much nicer, but there were still no photographers around in the park. We met some more characters, but some of them didn't have photographers with them either. We spent a lot of time in lines waiting and asking for a photographer to come and take pictures. Also, only one open attraction had an on ride photo - Winnie the Pooh. Still we figured we did enough character pictures on day two that the money spent was worth it.
We were then very dismayed when we got to our next hotel and tried to view and edit our photos and found that most pictures didn't appear. We have tried contacting Hong Kong Disney to see if they would either make the second day's pictures available or give us a partial refund and change their policy to a longer period but they have been unresponsive.
We are very disappointed in the Photo Pass service at Hong Kong Disney. Photo Pass at Hong Kong Disney is not worth the price. As I said, this was a once in a lifetime trip and we wanted those pictures that we posed for.
