Can someone tell me how many theme parks there are in Florida. Are they all part of Walt Disney World. Is there they anywhere that lists all of the parks and that they contain and where they are located etc. I've never been to Florida and so it would be useful if I could also see the parks on a map - so that I could get an idea of the distances invlolved.

Thanks, in advance.

Hi gordonscobie :earsgirl:

Major Parks :
In Orlando there are 4 WDW Parks : Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom. There are 2 Universal Parks : Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. There are also Sea World and Busch Gardens (BG in Tampa Bay - 1,5 hour from Orlando).

In the Orlando area you will find tons of thematic atractions, besides the parks I listed before.

Try these sites, they have a lot of information about the parks, restaurants, shoppings and all other attractions :

You've gotten some good information so far. WDW besides the 4 parks(MK, Epcot, MGM and AK) also has 2 water parks-Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Also there is a shopping/restaurant/adult entertainment area called Downtown Disney(DTD). With in DTD there is DQ(Disney Quest) a huge game room....check it out!

How long of a trip are you planning and will you have a car(or rent) for transportation? If you do you should look into Sea World and Universal.
Welcome to the DIS :sunny:
