Our numbers are 1, 5, 17, 33, and 1901. A very magical day at Disney: 5/30 complete!

I'm so very far behind but trying to catch up!
Love the photos. I'm dying to see Carsland. We haven't been to DL since 2007.

Amanda

You'll love it when you see it. I suggest watching the movie prior to your visit. We did and it was uncanny how close you feel to actually being in the movie when on Route 66. Its remarkable.

You are so sweet! I've browsed your other reports and they are all so fabulous. You have really created some amazing memories for your family! So did you grow up in So. CA? Sorry, nosey, I know! :)

The VIP tour that included the Dream Suite was through an association with my job. Here's a link to the Dream Suite tour if you are interested.

Ahhh a lovely story behind the lovely necklace!

Take care!

Thank you for posting the link. The Suite is gorgeous and what an amazing experience for you. :thumbsup2 I also took a peak at your photos of Walt's apartment. I had no idea you could see the Jungle Cruise from the opposite side of the patio; neat info.

I've started your report from the beginning. I enjoy reading about the magical memories that we all make with our families. Your family is lovely.

Yes, I am from So Cal. Born in Long Beach, raised in Cypress, and then back to Long Beach before moving to Utah where we've been for the past 20 *gasp* years. Time flies.

Where do you live in So Cal?

Hi there Jenny. I'm familiar with Belmont Shore area of LB - especially when they had a Northwoods Inn there! Utah looks like a lovely place to live! I've lived in Orange County my entire life with the last 18 years being near Back Bay Newport Beach.

I thought you had mentioned something about having a friend in Seal Beach... My son worked at 320 Main in Seal Beach years ago. (Dislcaimer: I'm old and maybe making this stuff up?? :confused3) Anyway, didn't know if you were familiar with that place.

Happy Mother's Day to you!

Hope you had a nice Mother's Day. :goodvibes

I worked on 2nd St for many years at Legends. It's a crazy small world. I've got a few friends that live in Newport Beach. It's so beautiful there. I miss the beach terribly.

One of my dearest friends lives near the pier in Seal Beach. I haven't been to 320 but have read great things about it. Mahe is also a favorite.

After Michael pushed the buzzer, a voice spoke and asked if they could help us. Michael replied that we had dinner reservations at 6:15. Within a few seconds, the door was open, Michael gave our name, and we were shown in. pixiedust: We were all giddy with excitement. Remember Chloe had the camera so the photos are almost all hers. I love it.

I do not remember the name of the CM that let us in. Gabby thought he was very cute though. He offered to take our jackets and backpack which we happily handed over.

His service was fantastic.

He offered to take a photo of the five of us:

Note Chloe’s shoes, they’ll haunt me later in the evening.

The CM asked us if we wanted to take the lift:

Or the stairs:

We opted for the lift but not before Chloe took this:

And off the lift:

We got off the lift and were led to the table. We were sat in the same room as we were for my birthday, more near the center of the room, at a round table set for 5.

I was truly engaged in the moment so some of the details, with regard to the exact order of events, are fuzzy.

Here’s our table:

Our server introduced himself, gave us menus, a wine list, and engaged in general conversation. I wish I could say he was the best server we ever had but he simply wasn’t. He seemed sort of bored. In all fairness, he could never match our level of excitement but later in the evening we did receive service comparable to our mood. Our guy didn’t put much into it. It was a slow night which I wasn’t expecting especially on Easter Sunday. Having served before I can say that it can be more difficult to give great service when its slow compared to when it was slamming busy. I watched him a little with his other tables and he was bland with them too. But don’t worry, he didn’t affect our mood whatsoever. :woohoo:

Our kind sponsor of the evening sent me photos of the menus so I could have a peak before our dinner. The first is the adult menu and the second is the child’s menu:

The exterior of the menu:

The inside:

Our server came back, explained the menu some, and we ordered drinks. DH and I ordered a bottle of red and forgive me but I can’t recall the name or anything. Got a photo of the cork though. :rotfl2:

Gabby ordered a virgin Pina Colada. Chloe and Joshua ordered fruit punch. Club 33 fruit punch:

Our wine arrived and it was time for a toast, to US!

The big round table in the room was sat as were a few two tops. We ventured out onto the patio and enjoyed the view. We did this through out the entire meal, in between courses.

I’ll try to show the pictures in order and hopefully from the light, you’ll be able to see the progression.

Love the charger pattern. I’d like this china:

We chatted a bunch on how truly special it was to all be enjoying such a great meal and time together. It’s such a different side of Disneyland, away from the crowds and rides and still totally magical.

Continued in next post.

Because I wasn’t taking the pictures and no one in my family really understands the appeal of food porn, I don’t have a ton of food pics. What we lack in food porn we more than make up for in shots of Club 33 and beyond.

Our server returned and we ordered appetizers. I ordered the Trio of Heirloom Lentil Soup and it was delicious:

Gabby ordered a salad:

Joshua ordered the Sustainable Day Boat Alaskan Scallop:

He gobbled up the scallop but thought the sauce was funky.

Michael ordered the Regional Cheese Tasting:

And little Chloe opted out of an appetizer. She had her eye on the lamb chops and none of the appetizers looked appealing to her. We did have a bread basket or 3 which she enjoyed. ;)

Instead of ordering dinner right away, we explained that this was most of our first time and if he wasn’t needing our table, we’d like to dine slowly. He seemed fine with this and told us we should try to stay to watch Fantasmic! from the balcony. F! started at 9:30, could we pull off a 3 hour meal with kids? :scratchin

His section never did fill up. This table wasn’t sat all night and it was the table we passed to get outside and onto the patio:

Here’s a sconce:

Window coverings:

Here are various shots from and on the patio. The first is of the birthday boy:

It was so neat to look across instead of up in NOS. :cloud9:

And down:

Continued in next post.

We continued to enjoy our wine and ordered dinner.

I ordered the Fliet of Pan Roasted Chateaubriand. The meat was done to perfection, medium rare, but the sauce was not the best. Easy fix though, I simply scraped it off. I took this with my cell, sorry about the poor quality:

Chloe and Michael each ordered the Colorado Rack of Lamb Chops and truly enjoyed them. They were incredible:

Gabby ordered the Seared and Baked Chicken Breast. It was so moist and she really enjoyed the parsnips:

Joshua ordered the King Crab Stuffed Main Lobster Tail. He couldn’t finish all of it but what he did, he really liked.

In between ordering and eating and all the time up until dessert, we enjoyed the heck out of that patio and we were not alone. At various times we saw people go in and out. I’m running out of adjectives so I’ll let Chloe’s photos do the talking:

I’m positive there couldn’t be a worse angle for me but what are you going to do?

Love this one:

People waiting for F!:

Gabby was making the goofiest face in this pic and asked that I not post it. Problem solved:

During our meal we were mostly helped by what I’m guessing is an assistant server who urged us to stay for F!. I told him we’d like a tour during the evening and he said he had the perfect guy for the job. He also said that the timing would match up with F! if we wanted to stay.

After a lovely and leisurely meal we told the kids that they could go on some rides but we wanted to have dessert and coffee and of course the tour. The opted to stay with us.

To be continued.....

Love the evening so far! I can't believe that Michael could take his glassware on the patio. I've heard that they don't allow that because evidently a patron dropped a glass on someone in Café Orleans once.

The meal looks fabulous! I'm just fixing dinner and now I'm even hungrier! Thank goodness I'm cooking something tasty! I'm glad that your kids appreciated the moment enough to treasure the time and not go ride some rides.

He couldn't take his glassware on the patio. ;) Neither could the other two couples we chatted with while they enjoyed their wine on the patio. Makes perfect sense once they told us. It didn't occur to us the potential risk while we sauntered our cool selves out there. :smokin:

I was glad they stayed too. They really enjoyed it.

What are you making for dinner?

Me too! I know you're using real butter and sour cream too. :thumbsup2 The food for the meet during your Fall trip to WDW sounds great too. You know we'll be crashing your house for dinner one of these visits. :p

What a great evening. It must have been exciting to eat that night. All of your pictures are very nice as well as the food. Very great update.

Wow! That all looks amazing! And since you had been before, you really knew what to enjoy this time and show your family!

It was such a special evening. I'll tell Chloe you like her photos. :goodvibes She had so much fun taking them. I like seeing the evening through her eyes.

It was so great, thank you. I love family time like we had. It was just the five of us which is rare between all of the kids' friends and soccer games and dance etc...I'm sure you can totally relate. :goodvibes

Dinner is a totally different experience. Both were amazing. Lunch is much more casual but the buffet is fantastic. Dinner is pure magic with the twinkling lights and being above NOS. :lovestruc I'd do either again in a heartbeat.

I am glad that I caught this before heading to the airport in a little over two hours. What a truly magical evening you had even if service could have been a bit better. I loved all the photos. I can't believe that I will be at Grand Californian tonight and at Disneyland tomorrow ( here in the UK, it is already May 16th).

Of course, in fact Fran had me buy another sour cream (even though I knew we had plenty left) It was great. You can crash the new house. We don't let anyone in this one it's awful. PIO got a special one day pass, but we are so overstuffed (think hoarders) that we need our new 5-6 bedroom house with family room and oversized living room to fit everything in so that we don't look like the house was recently tossed!

Hi there! I know you were running out of adjectives but I have to say that was a FABULOUS meal! Chloe did a great job with the photos. Just wow! The memories for you and your family will be so amazing!

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your evening! :)

Love reading your TR! I am doing "reasearch" to try and plan a first trip to DL for my family. We've been to WDW a lot but I feel like I'm starting all over again in my Disney knowledgel trying to plan something to DL.

Awesome dinner at Club 33 and Chloe did a great job with pictures. Can't wait to hear about the rest.

Christine

This has to be the most amazing whirlwind DL day ever. How wonderful to get opportunities to go to both 1901 and Club 33!

I am really enjoying your report and I have to say your family is just too adorable. All of you! :)
