Our Not So Scary, Very Merry, Honeymoon - An Oct/Nov 2012 PTR

So I've been MIA for a little while...but what was I doing?

Not much...actually, I hate to admit this, but I wasn't thinking about Disney very much at all :scared: Does that make me a bad DISser?

My brother's birthday was last Wednesday so we went out for supper and then to the casino afterwords. I ended up winning $38 on a penny machine :woohoo: I resolved myself to only spend $20, and just when it looked like I was about loose that $20 (which I was fully expecting to do), I ended up winning! I came out about $25 ahead, so I took it an ran.

The medication I'm taking on a daily basis to prevent my migraines is making me pretty tired most of the time :surfweb:, so it's been a chore to work through it, but I have been. The biggest annoyance on them is sleep...I'll be tired most of the day and when it comes time to go to bed, I'll get ready and lay down, and be unable to sleep. Sunday night I was lucky to get 2-3 hours, and the same thing happened the previous Sunday night. So, because I'm getting tired of this lack of sleep/being tired I went to the doctor yesterday, so now I'm on half the dose I had been taking, in hopes that I'll be able to sleep better. If not, then it's back to square one.

I don't really have any Disney related news or planning updates, but I did miss a photo of the week on Friday, so I'll post two this time, to make up for it. :thumbsup2

yeah for your pin code! even just part of the trip helps alot! i keep checking for one, but i'm thinking our dates may be excluded.
i hope you get your sleep/ medicine worked out.

Hey!
Just got around to catching up on your PTR. I'm happy that you got free dining. I haven't tried all of those restaurants yet but I LOVED Teppan and Kona and 50's. Oh and that Kitchen Sink looks delicious; how many people did it take to get through one?

Hope you get your migraine's figured out soon so you can get back to thinking about Disney :P

I think its healthy, not un-Dis-like to let your mind thing of things other than Disney once and a while.
I hope the half-dose of meds works better for you! Feel better.

Like I said, don't give up on a PIN just yet...you never know when :wizard: will strike :thumbsup2 I know how hard waiting is though...it usually drives me nuts!

It took 4 of us to finish it, but my dad probably ate enough for 2 :rotfl: My brother would have had some, but they couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be any nuts in it, so he played it safe and had an amazing looking brownie instead (he has a nut allergy).

Yeah, I think so too. Sometimes it's good to take a break :)

Firstly, I just wanted to say :thanks: for all the well-wishes :grouphug: You guys are all awesome :flower3:

Secondly, it's time for another Disney-related update! :cheer2:

So I've been doing some thinking about our ADR's...no I haven't changed anything else just yet :rotfl:...

I got to thinking...what else might we be able to do this time that we've never done before, that might be a fun way to add to our vacation?

.....

There are Facebook groups for people going in October and in November, and people from both of those groups have been talking about trying some of the dinner shows on their upcoming trips, which has now sparked my interest.

Admittedly, I haven't really researched them much yet, but they sound like they could be fun...maybe we should give it a go :confused3 What do you guys think? Dinner show or no dinner show? If we don't do a dinner show, do you have any other ideas of what we could do?

Also, I think the time is drawing near for me to book the Backstage Safari. I'm hoping to do it in the next two weeks or so.

Sorry for the lack of pictures in this update, but I really can't think of any accompanying photos to add.

I think I would do a dinner show... it could be really fun and different than a signature restaurant. Although, I do love BD as well, so I am not sure what I would choose if I were you!

How did you find the FB group for your month? Just a general search? I want to start "meeting" people going in Oct 2013 once I pass the year mark.

I am so sorry to hear about your meds. I really hope that half the dose will give you migraine relief without so many side effects. Hang in there! I will be praying for you!

Hmmm ok well, from my actual experience I can say this much:

I've done Mickey's Backyard BBQ and the food was amazing, the show... not so much. Definitely more for kids with dancing with the characters. Having said that, I have booked Hoop Dee Doo for this upcoming trip on the many (many, many) recommendations I've read here on the Dis. Looks like a really good time and really good food.

If not a dinner theatre, I must say that the Cirque show, La Nouba is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. Well at least I loved it. Hahahaha

I subscribed to the threads with titles like "Official November Trip Planners Thread" and stuff, and in those threads I learned that people created Facebook groups, so I just requested to join them. Maybe search the DIS to see if there's a thread started for Oct 2013 yet and go from there :)

And thanks! :goodvibes

I don't know about the dinner shows but I would love to see The Cirque du Soleil show at DTD.

That could work...I've seen La Nuba before, but I would gladly see it every time I go because it's that good. Of all the Crique shows I've seen it's my favourite (and I've seen 6 so far). My fiance hasn't seen it though, so it could be doable. :scratchin

Maybe I should YouTube some videos of the HDDR...

Thank's for the suggestions guys! :thumbsup2

So this post has been about 2 weeks in the making  Every time I sat down to try and type out I got called away for one reason or another. This will be a multi-part post. Maybe just two parts, but I'll see what happens when I start writing the second part of it.

Just from reading other’s PTR’s and TR’s I’ve come to the conclusion that I should make a list of things I want to do this time around, and new things I want to try food wise. So far here is the list: (in two+ parts)
*Please Note: None of the pictures in the following post are mine, got them from Google*

A Lapu Lapu from the Poly…wanted to try it before but last time I wasn’t feeling well the morning we went to ‘Ohana for dinner, so I skipped it to be safe.

DawaTusker.jpg
Visit the Dawa Bar…according to the Disney Food Blog there are lots of unique and tasty drinks

Goofy’s Candy Co in Downtown Disney – you can get a custom rice crispy treat made, which sounds cool…plus I’ve only ever been in there once or twice just for a minute or two. Maybe we’ll get something, maybe not…but I’d like to look a little more this time

And there we have it, my list of food-related items I'd like to try at least once this upcoming trip.

Next up: The Parks List.

Any post that starts with food is a great post in my books! Those are all great picks for must-eats. I don't think I've tried any of those yet but they really look tasty.

this is on my one day list for sure!

as for the food- James would melt in excitement if he had that hot dog. I'm afraid to give ti to him- he might request one nightly!

Joining in and thanks to your handy dandy links I am all caught up!

Congrats on your graduation...and your upcpming nuptiuals!

This looks like it is going to be a fantastic trip. And yay for free dining for you! Free food is always nice! I'm a big fan of the dining plan myself...I like to eat whatever and not worry about the cost.

:welcome: and thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

FD always helps! It would be nice to have it on the second part of our trip too, but we were planning on going without it, so it really is a huge bonus for us :thumbsup2

To all my fellow Canadian readers and those who are Canadian-at-heart, just wanted to say

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: party:

I borrowed this cute image from today's Google main page to celebrate.

I like the idea to make a list of things you want to eat again and things you want to try for the first time! I will have to remember that! We love the Carrot Cake Cookie, and a Dole Whip can always be eaten, no matter how full you are! =)

I hope you guys had a good Canada Day too!!

Love the food list, great idea. Might have to borrow that one!
