Love the pictures of the pool and Claire's take on zero-entry and the slide. Looks like you had the whole place to yourselves.

Oh how I love the AKL. It is just so pretty and I love the pool. It's so tropical and relaxing. My nephew loved the slide at the AKL pool better than at the Kidani pool. Glad Claire was enjoying herself. What a wonderful way to start your trip.

I also like the Mara. I think their flatbreads and sandwiches are pretty yummy.

I really was impressed with this place. We loved the looks and feel of it. It wasn't perfect, but we would love to come back again.

I know. Sometimes I don't follow them and I get in big troube too. ;)
I really enjoyed the animals. I am not a big animal person, but I like to look at them. I just don't like owning them as pet so much.

I was amazed at how big the pool was. It looked smaller to me in pictures, but it was big. I'm not much of a swimmer either. I never got in, though thought about the hot tub.

I know I missed a lot ther too. There just wasn't enough time.

    Claire thanks you.

How cool. I want a feather now too. I guess I got to go back. :confused3

Thanks. I am slow, but I will eventually get it all posted. It's really ahrd working on 2 TR's at the same time. I don't know how others can do it all the time.

I know. It was not an easy task. And I am not sure what her perfect picture was in her head, but I just wasn't getting it. :rotfl:

Thanks. it was a nice day, perfect weather and not crowded at all. It was weird not heading right off to a park.

My dd is the same way about pictures, she will even check my camera to make sure I got the "right shot". ;)

We just loved watching the Flamingos.

Claire felt the need for a picture.

There are those guys relaxing still.

A look over at the pool.

    Back at the birds.

We moved on to get another view of the Flamingos from the other side. We spotted a few pay phones.

    Flamingo overload.

    They look like headless Flamingos.

And we moved on a little further.

We found the other hot tub.

    Getting artsy.

    And pool games.

Pool games I think are more common now at all resorts than they used to be. I think up until last year, they really didn’t have much going on at Values, at least not like they do now. But since we never really have taken a full resort/pool day, we have never witnessed this too much. This was all new to Claire and as the time went on, she really loved “watching” the games.

Not sure why I torture myself checking out your update when I can't see pictures, so all I can say is - I'll be back.

Yes - I have noticed that the pool games are quite popular.

I love all of the photos. I had planned to spend the afternoon at AKL the day after Thanksgiving, but I spent longer at Animal Kingdom than I had planned and by the time I got there, the sun was already going down so I did not have the chance to watch the animals.

    All caught up Jenn!

    Wasn't Friday (11/2) just a gorgeous day?

You are off to a great start!

I think I have a mind like Skip... The bus driver's name had me thinking what you thought he'd be thinking. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

    All caught up.
    AKL what a wonderful resort.
That is funny about the texts as I am the opposite and have always received them.
Oh Mara. I love that place. But do not like the zebra domes. I took one bite and threw the rest out.
It is strange how they write it down.
Nice pool. Never swam in it. I hate that they only have the 1 pool.
    Great photos.

Claire was very intrigued by the pool games.

I am really glad we had the time to explore. Actually I would've like even more time there. It's really a neat place.

I am always given instructions and rules to follow. Most of the time they don't make sense either.

    YAY! :worship:

It was a fabulous day. Not too hot, but comfortable for swimming, and not humid at all.

I told him about that busdrivers name when I got home and he grinned right away. :rotfl:

We were happy with the resort. Claire was really impressed with it. I think I might of spoiled her a bit this trip.
In my 3 different Disney resort stays on this trip, not a singel text, but my sister got hers right away, go figure.

Love the pics:goodvibes! Your TR has made me take a good look at AKL as I start planning a possible adult-girlfriend trip for 2014! At first I was thinking Deluxe on the monorail, but the thought of having all those animals so close - and the pool and the good restaurants ... well it's got me thinking:scratchin! Thanks!
Isn't it funny how the digital camera era has changed how kids relate to photos! My neices have me snap their picture and then grab the camera to see it before it "goes away" - 'cause if it isn't a good shot, it needs to happen again!

I always debated AKL because it is "far out", but I was happy with our stay this trip. I know it's not great all the time, but for the most part we didn't have too many issues.
I love digital. I used to be so stingy on how many pictures I took to "save" on film. Now I am a wild woman!

Just a tad of an overload.:rotfl2: But they were so fun to just watch. I sometimes get obsessed about things and tek a bunch of pictures. I am sure , well I know, I have more flamingos coming on on a later day.

I wanted to stay at GF one day as it was my dream resort. Now after staying at AKL, I don't want to stay anywhere else!

I love all the vegetation around the pool & spas, also the outside eating areas are scattered around the area, very private.

I loved talking to the CMs from Africa, learned a bit about them & they were so friendly.

I like the decor of the rooms much better at AKL. When touring last summer I really thought the decor was kind of ugly. too old fashioned. But the rest of the resort is beautiful.
