I had a friend (not on this thread) who almost left the DIS because of things she found on another site. Luckily she got over it and still posts interesting and verbose TRs!
YAY for verbosity!
I gave up on other people's opinions like that years ago. I was sort of bullied in Jr High and HS, but since I never let it bother me, they never had any fun with it and moved on to more soft skinned people. I figure if people are talking about me behind my back, it's cause they have nothing better to do with themselves and that's sad. I have a life and choose to share it here and I'm glad you ladies continue to do that as well. Who cares what people say on this "anti-dis", we all have DIS meets and great friends on the DIS. Who needs negativity when there is fun to be had?
Mean people suck. Really, it is as simple as that. Some of my most favorite people in the world have been found here on the DIS. I am quite sure I have folks that think this, that or the other thing about me. And that's ok. I agree though, it's sad. So not what I want to spend my energy on!
Cynthia - I totally missed your update earlier. I checked your race link - you and Jeff have been busy! Bay to Breakers sounds like a crazy race.
It's funny, it was crazy and yet...not nearly at the level I'd been led to believe. Naked runners and all. In a lot of ways it was like a rD event...with booze.
LOL! We had an absolute blast at it.
I love your chips and salsa on the veranda. You really had a nice view.
I LOVE that building at OKW and that view. It is so very very Zen to me! I feel away from everything. Which right now sounds pretty amazing.
Was that the GF Cafe? We ate lunch there once and was not impressed. I think it took 2 1/2 hours from the time we walked in until the time we had finally gotten our bill and left the restaurant - the slowest service ever and the place was half empty.
It was the GF. It was a never done for both of us and yeah....it was just ok. Nothing horrible but nothing earth shattering either and the ambiance was pretty meh. I'm glad to have tried it and don't regret it but it's not on my list to go back to any time soon.
Thanks for posting, Cynthia! I love hearing about the girl's trip from both perspectives.
It sounds like it has been an insanely busy couple of months for you and your family. I can definitely see why you didn't have any time to get on the DIS. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Avengers race works out for you!
Oh I hope so. It isn't looking good but....I have until almost Oct to decide on a deferral so hopefully I will have better news by then. At the moment though, not encouraging. Fortunately it is definitely a "bonus" trip for me. Meaning it's tied to my bonus. My kids have a huge school trip next march that is eating up all normal vacation funds. And, sadly, it appears they've decided to change our bonus program to now pay out in late December...instead of...next month. Not.Happy.At.All. While we don't really have any true official info...my gut says...I'm screwed. The race is paid for and the flight isn't an issue but I really want to stay on property if I am solo and then there is a park ticket and well, it just adds up.
That breakfast from Sleepy Hollow looks huge. I love how fresh it looks, though. The tomatoes look they were cut at the perfect time. (I'm a stickler for tomatoes.)
Sadly I have to say the tomatoes looked better than they tasted. They weren't bad mind you but they were just a touch early.
I didn't realize they'd opened up a snack location near Under the Sea. Even a year later, I was clueless. I'm really glad you posted the menu, because going next week pregnant I know I'll be craving that crushed ice item.
Pregnant????? Oh my goodness I am so out of the loop. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Relaxing at the pool is always the best, and while cold pizza isn't my thing, I'm sure if it was from Via Napoli it was delicious. Even as leftovers, their food is amazing.
Something about the melon and prosciutto...cold...was just so refreshing on an uber hot day before hitting the pool.
I don't think the art store is ever coming back to the Poly, which is a bummer. They had some beautiful pieces in there.
That makes me very sad but I am not surprised.
This 100%! Breakfast really is my all time favorite meal. And you got me thinking, that we NEVER go out for breakfast. And I always get so excited for WDW when I'm allowed to make ONE breakfast ADR!

So I would have been frustrated too.
Exactly!!!
So cute. They're brave little guys aren't they?
So tiny, it's hard to be too annoyed with them
Still haven't visited this treehouse.
Give it another year or two so Calvin can handle the stairs without complaining.
Maybe some guac? And tequila.
Well, the tequila and rum would NOT mix. Which reminds me....Mary Ellen (
@MEK) had brought a wicked strong super yummy rum....I forget what brand though, but oh, it was good. Killer poolside drinks.
I'm not a cold pizza fan at all, but this combination, I would try it!
It was really lovely, something about the cold melon and prosciutto. On a hot day, before the pool...perfection.
Same here! Our problem is, it's way too hot to house flowers like this because we don't have a covered patio and it gets ridiculous here in the Summer so nothing could really live. HOWEVER, just yesterday, and i'm super excited about this, we started talking to a guy that builds patios and we'll be placing the order today to start building next month!

Exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am actually glad I didn't plant more, I usually do. It has been so hot here compared to normal that anything not on the drip system would be dead.

Who's being the stalker now?!
Good point. LOL!
I "think" we did both, but I am sure we did ToT. It's sort of hard to remember now. Hopefully Cynthia will remember. She is much better at the details than I am.
I probably have a screen shot lol.
I know. I love that bag - it's super cute. Joe is really talented. I wish I could do stuff like that. It was such a nice gesture on his part.
That bag is adorable, he is very very talented. And super nice too! I was impressed he went for the PP picture.
Well, let's see - I have 5 weeks before my August trip so I think I can finish, but that doesn't mean you have to.
I actually think we have both lost our mojo. I know that ever since I changed jobs and can't occasionally read or update a work, its gotten a lot more cumbersome. Sometimes I just feel too tired to update and comment at night. I'm just done!
5 weeks. Ok, that might be doable. That's right about when my next real work trip is. I have one next week but am actually taking the family along and it's just a long weekend.
I am having the same issue at night. Complicated by the fact that right now I am driving Evan to drivers ed every single night...and then picking him up and trying to fit in work outs and eating/cooking around it. Thank goodness it's only a 4 week course!
YAY! I have GOT to clear up some space on my hard drive. Then I will download them FINALLY! I actually can't wait to see them!
Oh my goodness they are SO cute! I am looking forward to posting them!
I found the picture of the menu - but for some reason it never uploaded with the rest of my pictures. I found it either on my computer or my phone the other day. Weird.
I know that feeling. Mine are out of order, time stamp conflict/error between phone and "real" camera pictures. Drives me NUTS. And then we have the upload corruption issues...ugh.
I think we are pretty equal partners in lameness these days!
great minds think alike? Ok wait, that's not so great.
I think they were the Force and the Dark Side. I believe the Force was Vodka based and the Dark Side had Rum. I know Fran and I were clearly divided on this drink which worked out well cause we could get one of each.
Rum Rum! Rum ALWAYS wins.
We will see if that is really what I had, I believe Mary Ellen had the Force and I had the Dark Side. We will see if that matches up, or not!
Wow - you must have really liked that waffle because you have three pics to my one!

Sleepy Hollow really DID save the day!
LOL. Or just trying for that perfect shot. I could have had half as much waffle, that was about my only issue with it. But I most decidedly ate the whole thing! I needed it and it hit the spot, in a big way.
OMG - I didn't realize that you had pictures of our meet. Awesome!
Yep!
YAY us!!!!!!!!!!!!
