OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

Hah, so I was right about standby being by nemo.

So Asia side is all fp+. Wonder how early they'll let people line up for that.
it says that they will let people in 90 minutes prior...I'm guessing it only applies for the first show since they have to unload, clean and then load for the second show

The theater will open to Guests 90 min prior to the first show.
The show will be performed twice a night

Is the bolded something we already knew? I thought I kept reading 3 performances. Honestly, 2 makes much more sense to me, but I don't remember seeing that before.

Does anyone know when the night experiences start on the safari? I have a fp to use around the sunset time on my trip, but I want to be able to see the new experiences.(sorry if it's already been mentioned!)

I thought there were 3 too but the HUB says 2, no times yet

It's the same safari the only difference is that at sunset they will turn on artificial lighting and they have huge screens that will mimic perpetual sunset. So if you are there around 8:30pm on you will see that

Does anyone have an opinion on if one side or the other may be a better view than the other? For JB, that is.

I just got back home so what I'm posting has possibly already been said, if so sorry.
Here's what's opening everywhere around WDW, in one convenient layout
Magic Kingdom Park

Epcot

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Beginning May 27:
3 track for TSMM

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

*Disney FastPass+ entitlements, dining packages and restaurant reservations will be available May 21.

Additionally found the seating for the Jungle Book show
This show offers two seating locations for Guests.

Asia (by Expedition Everest): Guests with FastPass+ entitlements should enter on this side. Stroller parking is planned to be by the Siamang exhibit.

DinoLand U.S.A. (by Finding Nemo – The Musical): Dining packages (when applicable) and standby seated Guests should enter this side. Stroller parking is at the same location that’s used for Finding Nemo- The Musical.

The theater will open to Guests 90 min prior to the first show.
The show will be performed twice a night
I wonder what would be better, the FP+ or a dining reservation with reserved seating? If it opens 90 min prior then the dining package must hv a section reserved like fantasmic. The FP sounds like it has its own section. Would FP holders still need to arrive 90 min early???

Has anyone reported the times for the Jungle Book show?
After looking around the HUB like crazy I found them
Jungle Book ALive with Magic 9pm and 10:30pm

Discovery IslandSunset Serenata: 4:50pm, 5:40pm, 7:10pm, 8:05pm, 9:15pm
Harambe Village Acrobats 7:00pm, 8:05pm, 9:20pm
There isn't any indication that Expedition Everest will close due to the JB show. Here's the times guide for next week

Thank you so much for the info! Any thoughts on if the FP windows will work in the same manner as Fantasmic? If I remember correctly, for Fantasmic, the fast pass window is 20 minutes - starting 35 minutes before the show. If that's the case, for the 10:30 show, would it be 9:55-10:15? I've never booked a FP for a show, so just not 100% on how it works. Thanks in advance!

Lion king. All the lion king fp does is get you seating in the lion section (I believe it's lion).

It is very possible to get a better seat in standby.

I also think usually everyone gets in to whatever show they want so long as they're there about ten minutes before show time.

I don't think this is necessarily accurate in the summer. When we were there last June (on a most recommended day) we got in line 25 minutes before the show time and we were one of the last 25 people admitted to the theater. There were probably 100-150 people who didn't get in. We weren't even sure *we'd* get in. I was getting concerned that we weren't going to be admitted to that show and the CM at the "wait here" point said she was sure we would get in - that it would be close, but we'd get in. She said it's best to be in the standby line at least 30 minutes before showtime during the summer.

I will mention that we were able to get into the Nemo show standby line about 10 minutes before show time and were admitted for that show...though we were up in the upper bleachers so we were probably part of the last 50-100 people they admitted for that show.

YMMV

Still trying to decide if we should go with FP+ for the JB show or try to change our ADR for a dining package. We already have Tusker House for dinner.

I second that. We got in line 20 minutes ahead of time in November and didn't make it into that show.

So disappointed in HB not starting until 5/28. We will be there for 2 weeks but stepson and his girlfriend leave on 5/28 after setting with us for one week.

I don't see any dates in Sept after 9/5 (Monday of Labor Day weekend) with extended hours.

Is the NIghttime safari considered a different FP experience? Can you selct a daytime and nighttime safari FP?

That's a good question. Probably not. They seem to have the same name in MDE. So no, only one, unless you do some FP+ shenanigans.
