I agree having the men start in C creates a bit of a mess, especially since this race seems to grow larger and larger. I would imagine a fair amount of the men would belong in A. There's already such a huge pace discrepancy in the first corral as is (I don't know any other race that would seed a 1:45 half marathoner with someone who runs 2:10, but I guess there's enough people that it spreads out and it's fine), I can't imagine the chaos that seeding a 2:45 half marathoner and a 1:45 half marathoner in the same corral could potentially cause if there is enough of them.

My idea was to give the elite women enough of a head start (maybe 10-15 mins?) so that only someone in that corral would be able to cross the tape first, and that way men could be seeded in A if need be. The separate chute idea is interesting, too! As the grow this race, hopefully Disney comes up with a solution that is safe for all involved

I'm so nervous about running my first half tomorrow! Ugh I need advice terribly!

What should I have for dinner? I don't want to over do it and I don't want to not have enough food tonight either.

    HELP

I ordered the Tiara 13.1 tattoo from Marathon tattoos. I am way more boring than you!

The 2 ft of snow is going to kill my last long run. At least we did 12.7 last weekend. Not sure if I should try to squeeze it in on a weeknight, or just let it go. Thoughts?

Oh, and hooray for February birthdays! (2/17)

I would say if you can't get it done in the next couple of days then don't. Running coach already had DH and I tapering off since we are two weeks out. Don't sweat it !:)

I'm in the same boat too - the roads aren't completely cleared around here (town trucks got stuck lol) and I really want to avoid additional injuries at this point. Even if the road is clear, the snow piles are so high that I'm afraid cars won't see me running on the road :worried: My longest run was 11.5 miles but I did in hilly CT (PHM course seems practically flat to me) in sub zero weather so I think I'll be ok for PHM...I hope...

I may have found a loophole....the following provides an interesting answer:
The Princess 1/2 webpage, in the FAQ >THE RACE (Tab) >Can a male runner start the race with his female running partner?

Hi all! I just found this thread. I am running the Princess. I'm so nervous/excited. I've only done 5k's and one 10k a few weeks ago. The furthest I've gone in training so far is 8 miles. I'm not looking to break any personal records, I just want to finish. I definitely think I have it in me and I know that's half the battle.

I have a friend who will be down from Mi that weekend. She didn't even know this existed and was really bummed it was sold out. Anyone know of any way she could be able to run it with me? I've heard of people selling their bibs. Anyone have one, or know of one up for grabs? We would both be delighted if she could participate.

Someone posted on here they were looking for a buyer for their entry. Don't remember who so you will have to look back and try to find the post. It wasn't too long ago, maybe a week or so. Good luck!

Not sure what's going on with my foot but it isn't PF. Today was my best day since 1/31 though! I'm going to take it slow the next few days. I'm very optimistic! :) Thanks for the words of encouragement!

What an inspiring video... You should be so proud of your girls! :goodvibes

I'm in on this. I was suppose to take my last long run yesterday but the snow made it impossible. I'm going out today but I know I can't run in my normal pace. This sucks! I was thinking about using the thread mill at the gym, but I would rather do an outside run. 11 miles on a thread mill... No thanks!

I'll be wearing this on the back of my t-shirt, so say Hi if you see me. My t-shirt is just plain purple, so I wanted to put something on the back and that's when I came up with this idea.

add me to the list of people who thinks disney dropped the ball a little on the princess half. the iGiftBag has a section on the new balance runDisney shoes. when you click on them for more information it has all links to the marathon weekend. talks about seeing that at the expo on jan 10-12, 2013. um, hello?? it's february now. time to move to the next race! it even has a bunch of traning plans....for the january marathon weekend. boo.

i don't know. just seems like they could have updated everything before sending it out.

that being said, i'm looking forward to princess weekend. i haven't run since my 8 miler last sunday. :rolleyes1 i've had some motivational issues. i'm going to run today though. maybe another 8 miles. of course all the snow isn't going to help...

good luck to all in the home stretch! looking forward to seeing you all there. after the 5k i'm going to the WISH meet up at DTD. and i'll be wearing my WISH shirt at the race!

A lot of training plans only bring you up to 10 miles, the theory being that if you can do 10 in training, then you can do a half. In fact, I really hope that's the case since I'm doing 10 today. It will be my farthest before the half. Next week I'm cutting back.

You will both be fine! I wouldn't sweat it at all. You're trained and ready. Start your taper period and get excited!

You should have what you've been having before your long training runs. Keep doing what has worked for you to this point. Don't try anything new in your routine.
