There has been a pool side movie every day this week, sometimes a cartoon, sometimes a fsmily movie. When we went over to use the Kidani pool, we noticed them advertising a different movie than the Jambo pool offered. So it might be worth checking out both.

No marshmallow roasting. I honestly don't think the "structure" of the fire would lend itself to that.

Mark me down for 1/24-27/14 at Jambo!! It will be my first time visiting AKL. I have no idea where I will be before or after that (my entire trip is Jan 21-30) but AKV is paid in full and non-refundable so I know this part for sure!

My theory is that this is the standard blurb for campfires. I know that a few resorts have them. However the AKL Jambo one was there before the campfire actitivity became so common at the resorts.

In the very back of my mind I seem to however remember a second campfire being set up close to the overlook where they do the night goggles and that they were roasting marshmallows there. It's just a shadow of a memory though and I might confuse it with the WL...

can anyone tell me how comfortable the pull out sofa/chair sleepers are in AKL villas? I'm thinking particularly for adults,as its likely that my 16 and 23 yr old will be using them. my oldest will be paying his own way and its a lot of money to pay for a bad nights sleep on a thin mattress.

I don't think you have any worries. The newer DVC resorts (such as AKV) have always had comfortable sleepers. The older DVC's have replaced their sleeper mattresses in recent years. Granted, it won't be as comfortable as a "real" bed, but these come pretty close!

My mom always insists on sleeping on the pull out, says she sleeps fabulously. My brother has also, he thought the bed was too hard but finally got some good rest on the pull out. He's not the smallest of people and was very comfortable.

The marshmallow camp fire roast is located in a different place then the folk tales activity. I believe 2 different groups organize each of these activities. (So you will have to look on different "lists of activities" for the times of both events. The marshmallow roast will appear with the other pool activities and if i recall correctly, the folk story might appear on the cultural activities list.

The camp fire for the marshmallow roast is near the back of the pool area look for the flamingos..if memory serves correctly. The folk tales is right outside of the hotel lobby area. Both happen year round weather permitting. We have done both, and our kids enjoyed both activities.
