I didn’t see anything started for this Black Friday cruise, so I started a thread. We’re in, anyone else?:sail:

We will be on this cruise! I want to get a group together to do Fish Extenders!
:welcome:Feel free to organize a group, although you may want to wait until we get some more people:lmao:Also, if you want to organize a group you may want to get your posts to over 10 so you can pm people and they can pm you back. The FE I am running now we are keeping most info private as this is a public site, so we are using pm and email.

Me me me!!!!

Actually it's me, my son Jacob (10yo at time of sailing), my mom, my sister, my brother in law, niece (2yo), and nephew (10yo at time of sailing). As of right now we're waiting to see if my brother will be going or not, he'll find out closer to sailing time. My sister and brother in law and family have an ocean view room, and my mom, my son, and I have an interior room, if my brother is able to go he'll be in our room too.

My son LOVES cruising, we took him on a Carnival cruise 2 years ago and he loved every single second of it. We watched a tv show on Disney cruises about a year ago and ever since then he says a Disney cruise is his "dream vacation." So we're making it come true! I can't wait to be there with everyone!

I've only sailed Carnival, have gone on 4 cruises. My mom has done 2 Carnival cruises, and my brother has done 2 NCL cruises so we're all brand new to Disney cruising. Any advice is most helpful!

Also, we've never been to Galveston so I have no idea where to stay, what to do etc. We're driving in the day before and staying overnight in a hotel.

First off :welcome:I am not sure if you booked on your own or through a TA, but make sure your brother is in your room now for a couple of reasons. The most important reason is he may not be allowed to join you once the cruise is closer due to how many people have rooms near you and the capacity of the lifeboat for your area. The second reason is price. You would pay the rate now for a 4th person instead of the prevailing rate when you try to add him. It is easier to get money back then having to spend more to get him on board the ship.

I have done Carnival twice, NCL twice and my DCL cruise next month will be my 4th with them. I will post little tips as they occur to me up to the cruise - I am full of weird and sometimes useful infoo_O The most important tip is to save money paying for your cruise by buying discounted gift cards at Target (there is a thread on that in the cruise forum) and at Sam's Club.

Also, we've never been to Galveston so I have no idea where to stay, what to do etc. We're driving in the day before and staying overnight in a hotel.

Depending on how much time you have you could do Moody Garden's or just walk the Strand. www.galveston.com is a very useful website to find discounted parking and hotels. I am staying at the Galvez next month and I will have to see if I like it enough to book there for next year. I kind of want to stay at Harbor House as it is so close to the port and you can see the ship pull in.:boat:

For now he's listed on the reservation, that way we're guaranteed a room that sleeps 4 people. We figure we can change it later down the road if it becomes necessary, but I'm crossing my fingers that it won't. He's a paramedic for the fire department here and is in nursing school so he's at the mercy of his schedule, and unfortunately won't know for sure if he'll have the time off of school or not to go.

I'm already Swagbucks'ing my little heart out to build up Target gift cards, and using ShopKick to get gift cards for Target. Then I'll use those gift cards plus my red card % off to get the Disney gift card to use on the trip! I also have a few rebate apps that I use when I grocery shop. I was able to use the $ I got back from the apps towards our Disney trip last month and it helped out a lot.

I've been reading a lot about the ship, and I'm currently watching a video on YouTube from the travel channel! I'm so excited about this cruise!

I told my son today that we were going, it was awesome! He's through the roof about it and can't wait. He said he is really excited to eat pizza every day lol.

I'm going! I'm very excited - we're surprising our kids with a Christmas cruise this year, and I looked forward on the website to realize I could actually book a suite for next year, so I did that, too!
Somehow, this all unfolded into an extended family vacation, so my parents and my 2 sisters + their families will be cruising as well. I'm super excited!
My oldest (in the avatar pic) is 24, my younger 2 will be 10 and 14 when we cruise.

:welcome: I love when you can get a group together for a vacation!

:welcome: As far as I know there has not been a FE group started anywhere.:confused3 Feel free to organize one here if you would like.:goodvibes I am organizing one now for my cruise later this week so I am not planning on being in charge for this cruise. I may change my mind after I come back next week, but it is a lot of work organizing groups!:faint:

Hi everyone! We are on this sailing along with our parents. It's our third cruise on DCL. Our kids are 6, 4 and 1.

Hi Everyone! I am super excited about this cruise. We are sailing with my brother and sister-in-law who have been on a DCL before, but we (hubby, myself, and our son (7 yrs. old at time of cruise) will be experiencing our first Disney cruise. I definitely want to do the FE as well.

:welcome: Just a warning, cruising is addicting!

For anyone wanting to join the FE, normally it is sent to you via pm or email so you will need to have your posts up to 10 to receive a pm.
